I know we've already speculated on the big office. But what are the guesses for the VP seat? Any region? Governors? Go for those from states with high electoral college counts?

I think it is not out of the realm of possibility that this election may force the first black or female VP. Why? Because I will not be shocked if Obama ends up as the Dem running mate, to which the Republican nominee might very well counter by putting Condy Rice on the GOP ticket. It could happen.

I seriously doubt that Newt would ever accept. I also seriously doubt that anybody would be crazy enough to select a lightning rod like Newt to be their VP.

Newt would NEVER take second on anything. That's why he left Congress in addition to stepping down from the Speaker's post.

What is the over/under on when Newt jumps into the race?

Newt is waiting to see if Thompson jumps in. Thompson is the current rock star. Newt will wait until the fanfare dies out to be his own rock star.

I doubt Hillary, and she is the presumptive D nominee at this point IMO, takes another legislator. I also doubt that an all female ticket is in the works. My guesses for her include: Gov. Henry, OK; Gov. Manchin, WVa; and Gov. Kaine, VA. However, if I had to pick one person that I think HRC would really want I'd go with Gov. Culver of Iowa.

The R side is just to much a jumble for me to make an educated guess at this point, but I'll try some quick match-ups for fun.

1. Giuliani - VP Donald Trump (joke) no clue really
2. Romney - VP Gov. Perry, TX
3. McCain - VP Colin Powell
