CHRISTIANSBURG - The trial of three Virginia Tech football players will go on Friday as scheduled, a judge ruled late Tuesday.
Quarterback Marcus Vick, his roommate Brenden Hill and teammate Mike Imoh were each charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor after three teenage girls told police they were drinking liquor at Vick's apartment Jan. 27 and that one of the girls, a 15-year-old, had sex with Vick.
Montgomery County Commonwealth's Attorney Joey Showalter had asked that Friday's date be pushed back to allow his office more time to review cellphone records subpoenaed as evidence in the case and to meet with attorneys representing the alleged victims.
Juvenile and Domestic Relations Judge Robert Viar denied Showalter's motion. Viar's written order wasn't entered Tuesday, so no more details were available.
Vick, 20, is charged with four counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Three of those counts are for allegedly allowing the three girls to drink liquor and a fourth for accusations that he had sex with the 15-year-old girl.
