Video Chat advise

I am wanting some type of video chat app that will work on the android platform for a couple of my grandchildren that live a few hundred miles apart to see and talk to each other.

Can anyone please recommend me a good app or give me some advice? I have never used a webcam therefore this is new territory for me.

Skype, WeChat, Google Hangout. The GF uses all those to keep in touch with her family and friends all across the globe.

Everyone I know has an Apple device so I'm most familiar with Facetime.

I have used Skype and found it very easy. Google Hangouts was a little less intuitive.

A friend of mine uses Google Hangouts or Viber.

I think Tango is another video chat platform I see some of my customers use.

My wife travels a lot with her job, this is our preferred method. But if I'm not mistaken gramps uses android phones. Skype would be his best choice I think.

I used Google hangouts every night while I was here in FL without the family. Worked as well as facetime which we do with the grandparents each week
