Jonathan Crompton Documentary
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
For the past 15 months Ive been shooting a documentary on Jonathan Crompton. Initially I was going to pitch it to ESPN as a 9 part series on recruiting however, as yall know, Jonathan verballed last summer which nixed that idea. Ive decided to keep at it and I hope to follow his career onto Knoxville.
Anyway, I have a tape of Jonathons final regular season high school game against North Buncombe. I put a microphone on Jon and got everything he said on the field, in the huddle, firing up his teammates, talking with his coaches, etc. The Cromptons, Coach Fulmer and Coach Sanders all have a copy. I spoke to David and Janet Crompton this evening and they gave me the okay to post this and offer the tape.
Its currently 35 minutes, however Im going to add more pre-game footage and some great stuff in the Cromptons home as they talk about the recruiting process and why Jon chose Tennessee.
I could go on and on about what a great athlete and more important what a great person yall are getting but its all on the tape.
One of my favorite sequences - Jon scrambles and lays a kid out. You can hear the kid moaning and Jon walks past hims and says, thats what you get for going at my knee buddy. Theres just some great stuff on there and I really enjoyed shooting it and getting to know the Crompton family.
I live in Portland, Oregon (diehard U of O fan hence the Duck Sign In Name) and Ive flown out to Waynesville quite a bit this past year along with San Antonio where I micd him up for the Army All American game.
I just wanted to see what type of interest thered be for this tape. If this is something yall would like a copy of fire me an email at my EZINBOX or respond to this with an email or a good way to contact you. I expect to have the additional footage added in about 10 days and Ill start making duplicates and sending the tape and/or DVD out then.
I also want to add the Cromptons have not received any benefits from the shooting of this documentary. Nor will they receive any benefits. Janet and David along with myself are well versed in the NCAA Rules and Regulations regarding eligibility and amateurism and we've done everything by the book.
Thanks and feel free to contact me with any questions. I look forward to being a part of the Vol family the next 4-5 year
Resopnd here also, so I can get a feel of what you think.
Go Vols!!!
