Just a question for you....What is with the recent popularity of saying "The Ohio State University"? I have heard players say that for the past couple of years, and now even some announcers are emphasizing "The". I am just curious. Is this along the same lines as USC dropping the U and going with only SC, as was mentioned during the National Championship game?(bleedingorange @ Jan 8 said:I guess that means my second favorite team will be preseason #1 this coming year. THE OHIO STATE BUCKEYES :dance2: :dance2:
Conventional wisdom says he will be. Houston will take Reggie Bush #1. New Orleans will probably take Lienart although they might take Young and start him as a rookie in an effort to drastically pick up the attendance numbers. The Titans should take Young or Lienart at the #3 position. The only monkey wrench could be that Fisher is looking at a thrid straight loosing season if the team tanks next year. Three straight loosing seasons will probably cost him his job, so Fisher may be looking for an immediate impact player like DeAngelo Williams instead of a long term franchise QB.(allvol@15 @ Jan 8 said:i hope hes a titan next year
I think this all started when someone pointed out that there is another OSU (Oklahoma State Univ.) and people started in with the tOSU as a way to distinguish the two. Also, it could be an effort to copy Virginia's tradition of calling their school "the university." What if we started calling UT "The University of Tennessee" to distinguish it from Texas? We could be tUT for short and the POTSL Band could play that '70s song "King Tut" instead of Rocky Top. All the players could walk like Egyptians on the way down the VolWalk and they could wrap Smokey in toilet paper like a mummy! How cool would that be?(ChemEVol @ Jan 8 said:Just a question for you....What is with the recent popularity of saying "The Ohio State University"?
