that's what Zach Azzanni is teaching our WR's that alone tells me this man has to be the best WR coach out there.

Be a Wide Receiver not a pass catcher ~ Zach Azzanni

Wow. That's a mighty big leap to make....simply because he used the word "violence." Definitely thread-worthy...or not.

Feels good to actually have some legitimate football coaches. Although, I will posit that there won't be many coaches not use the word violence at some point when coaching.

it's all about teaching your players to be nasty and violent on the field (but do it smartly) which is something we have lacked for many years at tennessee, except for a few plays here and there. it's not been consistent and it needs to be to win national and sec championships.

I'm totally down with this-- It is all about putting a mindset in place and feeding it. As this philosophy becomes normalicy to these WRs on a daily basis, it will morph itself into a way of playing on the field in games. This will challenge our DBs and make them better as well. Good Sh@#!

And people complain when I regurgitate the same stuff in response to stuff like this...

It isn't that I don't approve of what Azzanni is saying or doing... but rather object to the idea that it proves he's the "best WR coach out there". He's not the only guy out there teaching WR's to be physical. I'll be convinced that he's a good WR coach when his group actually starts to perform well. His guys were very bad last year and did not appear to progress very much over the season.

They were bad but the WR's, nor coach Azzanni, should have to shoulder all the blame. QB, line, RB's and the whole offensive coaching staff gonna have to carry that load.

Alto the running game looked pretty good.

I don't disagree but you seem to miss the point. The "best WR coach out there" probably would have done a little more last year... agree? I'm not saying he's not good or not the "right" WR coach... only that there's nothing particularly outstanding or unusual about teaching WR's to play physical. Pretty much everyone is trying to do that and many do it well.
