With Kansas and Duke losing this week it appears that the victim of our 35 point beat-down (and also, inexplicably, the mighty Green Bay Phoenix) have a shot at a 1 seed. I have to believe the higher they go the more lift we'll get. I'm greedy, but I'm hoping a win today and a little work in the SEC tournament will get us out of a play-in game in Dayton. Go Cavs!

I think UVA has to at least make it to Sunday next weekend with 1 win against Duke, UNC or Syracuse on Saturday for them to get that last 1 seed.

I think you're probably right. Although UVA may be playing the best ball in America, outside of Florida, their pre-conference resume is not good. There's the losses to UT and Green Bay, for one. Also, they didn't really play anyone other than Wisconsin, best I can remember. And they lost that game as well.

no one played an easier ACC schedule than Virginia. Their only good win was the Syracuse beatdown. They played UNC when they were down and Pitt was imploding when they played against them.

Did any other ACC school get out of playing Pitt, 'Cuse, UNC and Duke twice? Any bracket that picks UVA to go far in the tourney will be in the trash very early.

Yeah, you're right. They certainly did benefit from a soft schedule. Honestly, I don't see any ACC team doing much in the tourney this year. Now, if things pan out just right, next year, the ACC could be a monster. We'll see.
