If Carolina makes the NCAA, then the committee and its purpose have lost all credibility whatsoever. The only way its legit is if they win out or win the tourney. Which I don't think is happening.

Which blows, because we (UK, and UT in a way) needed that win to stand for something. But NC sucks, and there's no way around it.

Ironic considering that UK made the tournament two years ago in spite of an 18-12 record.

Its not ironic at all, because they were 12-4 in the SEC. If you paid any attention to what the committee looks at and judges upon, you would know that a 12 win team from a BCS conference is getting into the NCAA 99% of the time, barring a collapse in the pre-conference schedule.

Its happened with other schools as well.

True enough.

I thought UNC would take a step back this year, but not this big of a step...

Which isn't fair. I'd rather see the mid-majors get more attention, but that is just my honest opinion.

Their guard play is just so inexperienced and young, they can't compete with teams that have a talented and experienced back court. I thought talent would carry them through to the tourney anyway, but its not happening.

I can't disagree with your statement at all. Not saying its exactly fair to mid-major conferences that have 3 great teams, but only get 1 team in on the automatic bid.

But at the same time the competition level (normally) in a BCS conference is much higher than that of a mid-major, that winning that many games in conference warrants a shot at the post season.

This year the mid-majors should get a decent boost in their # of teams allowed, thanks the ahboration that is the Pac-10.
