Vladimir Emilien received an official offer from Ohio State last March. The Buckeyes then received six defensive back commits leaving no room for Emilien. One of those six commits had an off the field incident and it appears the Buckeyes are backing off on his offer.
That looks to have opened the door for Emilien once again in Columbus. Buckeye assistant coach Luke Fickell called Emilien last week, letting him know Ohio State is still very much interested.
“They were saying they’re very interested in me still, and they are still recruiting me hard,” said Emilien.
Emilien did not know what exactly details of the reason for the renewed interest.
“I’m not sure what happened to their commitments, I didn’t ask. He’s the one that gave me a call, so I don’t know.”
Emilien is set to visit a couple Big Ten foes in the weeks to come.
“I’m going to Wisconsin next week (October 11)and Michigan in two weeks (Oct. 25). Right now no other’s (visits) are schedule.”
Emilien is due to be an early enrollee this winter and a decision is coming very soon. This renewed interest for Ohio State does have Emilien thinking.
“Right now, I’m just me re-evaluating everybody!”
