Fort Mitchell, KY.- Class of 2012 verbal offers are already going out in dozens to top prospects. Potentially the class of 2012 is already loaded with top quarterback potential. One of the bigger names so far has been Dixie Heights high slinger Zeke Pike. He has taken a large number of visits this summer to [...]

My daughter knows Zeke through a youth football league he played in and she cheered for. He was a man among boys when he was 12-13 years old. But apparenty he is not the most intelligent guy out there...has been held back in school for at least a year. If he gets that together, he may be a beast. Played running back and linebacker when I saw him. His Dad, Mark Pike played for the Buffalo Bills (mainly special teams) in the 80's and early 90's.

His interview felt very "scripted" to me. Nice enough kid. Sounds like he can sling the pig around though.

Well, Peyton Manning is no Rhodes Scholar, either, but he managed to do pretty well for UT and earn his NFL degree with flying colors. If he's good enough to suit up for the Vols, let's not let a less than scintillating IQ keep him off the field.

What makes you say Peyton is not very intelligent? Do you know what his GPA was while he was in college? I seem to recall most analysts saying he is one of the most intelligent people in the NFL.

iirc, peyton graduated in 3 years from the college of communication with a 3.8 or 3.9 gpa. probably indicates a pretty high level of intelligence, as well as a strong work ethic.

but special ed did get the part about peyton not being a rhodes scholar correct.
