No matter who the coach in place was, the one thing that was an absolute need in the class of 2010, was a star quarterback that the staff could mold into their future franchise guy. While Coach Kiffin was still in Knoxville, he was able to sway California star quarterback Tyler Bray away from his [...]

Great article. I like the fact that he's not getting the recognition he deserves from the scouts. Glad he's coming in with a chip on his shoulder and something to prove. Second best qb in this class IMO (Heaps).

Good read. I think redshirting would be best for him, but it's good to hear that experts think that he could start from day 1.

After he and his families cross country move, and the fact that he never wavered on his commitment, I hope Tyler is Tennesse's QB of the future.

I hope he has had a playbook since his first day on campus. With Stephens and Simms possibly projecting as the guys to beat Bray should have a distinct advantage.

I think the starting job will come down between Bray and Matt Simms...N. Stephens is a holdover who isnt a starting QB in the SEC...He is a decent backup but not a guy I want to hand the keys over to for the year...I think they all battle it out in spring practice with Simms and Bray coming out as leaders and will then the 2 will fight for the starting spot come fall practice...I would not like to see Bray get redshirted...He is small and if he was coming in with the other freshman, I would think you might have to redshirt him but with him being an early enrollee, he has plenty of time to put the weight on between now and then and learn the offense...

I know I will get yelled at for this....but I will say it anyway....

I think it is time for the NCAA to allow 5 yrs...to play 5 yrs.

If a player in any sport is good enough, they will leave for the professional ranks. But with scholly limitations, injuries, and "education", the NCAA should look into this idea.

How many "great" pro prospects are 5th yr. srs????? Not many in any sport. Give these kids a chance to mature. If a "student"/athlete is good enough, we all know he/she will leave before they graduate. It's time for the NCAA to step up and do the right thing for the vast majoriy of athletes!!!
