VN's very own political meme thread...

In my youth, Dave was the funniest man on TV by far, constantly pointing out the absolute absurdity of modern society. Then NBC sc***wed him over when Carson retired. He did okay on CBS but I think he was broken and he is now a bitter old man lashing out. It really makes me sad. And once a comedian becomes overtly political, there is no turning back. Carson was great because he made fun of everyone. He knew the joke was the political class itself, not any particular party or politician.
Once you start attacking one side and declare hands off on the other, you lose the whole point and basically attribute virtue to 50% of the clowns. You become a Propagandist, not a jester. The sign this has happened is you no longer see the audience guffawing in side splitting laughter, you see a crowd of trained seals clapping and nodding in self righteous virtue signaling. Watch an old Caron monologue and then watch a recent Colbert one. See if you can spot the difference

See, this is what I don’t get as a woman.. it’s particularly difficult being a woman, much less an ugly woman (I assume).. so while I sort of understand (don’t think it’s right though).. changing over if you would be a pretty woman, but your chances if life and love and success would typically be greater as an uggo man.. why would you do this? Also there would be slim pickings on who you would attract.. it’s not a well thought out plan.. also known as.. being crazy
It is basically the same as telling God that He made a mistake. It is either a terrible mental delusion or the ultimate expression of arrogance, depending on the mental state of the individual.
