Accorrding to Brent Hubbs of Volquest.com, the USC Trigans offered Vol OL committment Cody Pope a scholarship earlier this week.
I said from the beginning that Pope's upside is huge and apparently the top program in the nation feels the same way. He is already 280lbs wit really good feet and athleticism. he has only been playing for two year, so he is still learning the game and the position. West coast recruiting guru, Allen Wallace says he loves Cody Pope and thinks he could be a big-time player in 2-3 years. Pope could be really good by his RS Sophmore year. He said he was very surprised the LA schools didn't go after him harder. Well, apparently USC felt they were missing out on a potentially big-time prospect and tried to steal him from us here at the end.
Also according to Hubbs, Cody Pope told them thanks, but no thanks. I am headed to Tennessee.
Just thought I would post this because I remember some questioning this pickup and everything. I thought those same people might want to know that USC saw enough in him to offer a scholarship.
