I don't typically start threads. I saw the post a few days ago "reminding" us to be classy. I just want to say that I've never experienced a more joyful moment in all of my game day experiences. The people in our section, including a handful of bama fans, were cheering with minimal foul language. People around us were gracious and optimistic to the end....and to a person everyone was acknowledging we were witnessing an epic game....win or lose we were watching the Vols give everything they had. I saw very very few truly intoxicated people.
And then we won. Pure unadulterated joy. I couldn't stop smiling. Never hugged so many strangers in my life. Bama fans offering a handshake and acknowledging what an unbelievable game.
Down on the field, the students were rowdy but it was 100% pure joy, no one pushed or shoved my family...everyone was giving space and hugs and high fives. The players were hugging fans but not being mobbed. I saw no fights afterwards. Every bama fan I saw on the walk out was either head down or offering congratulations. I've honestly never experienced that much pure joy shared by so many people. It was like a giant sustained smile shared on a hundred thousand faces at the same time.
Proud to be a Vol with you folks!
