Other than the game, how was the UF campus experience?

I tailgated with a UT alum and former co-worker who manages the GoVolsExtra.com blog, and his wife who's a UGA alum (she was wearing orange yesterday though). They've been coming to Gainesville since 2005.

We had 4 UT fans in our section, first time in Gainesville, and they said for all the horror stories they heard, they had a great time and didn't encounter any issues with UF fans.

I saw a fan getting escorted out of Section 47 by at least 3 cops, but that's about all I saw. Couldn't tell what team he was cheering for.

Everyone I talked to said they had a great time except for this creepy black dude in extra tight jorts

Said it made them feel uneasy when he would stand up and jump up and down with his pompoms

Was the guy that was escorted out of the stadium shirtless and wearing jorts? If so, he was probably cheering for the Gators.

The fan being escorted out was a Tenn fan. He took off his shirt and 4 cops were up there in about 5 seconds. Nothing before that happened between fans that I saw to cause such an immediate response but whatever. Overall had a lot better time this time around than 2 years ago. We tailgated on fraternity row with gator alum and even a few past players but all was good. Very little trash talking and more just talking sports and how bad each of our offenses suck.

Honestly, I was greeted by A LOT of gators fans, asked where I was from and wished us luck, mostly older people. I live in florida and plan on going back every two years. I was in section 32 and didn't have one problem.

Overall I had a decent experience for my first trip to Gainesville. Didn't get hit by any piss bombs nor did anything happen to my car. Went to Grogs and Gator City before the game and got heckled by many gator fans but also met many kind gator fans. Had four gator fans buy my girlfriend and I all the drinks we wanted. Reason behind it was they said they were treated with class when they visited Knoxville and wanted to reciprocate that when TN traveled to Gainesville.

As for Ben Hill Griffin, it's a dump plain and simple. Seems out dated and I've Benny in better looking high school venues. It didn't help that I set in the heart of the gator section but was never told to sit down or shut up when I cheered. I wish we would had never hurt Driskel because we probably could had won. Overall a decent experience and thankful for the kind people that still walk this earth.

Being that the rivalry has lost it's luster, I would imagine the crowd wasn't as crazy as past meetings.

It's been a while since I've been to the swamp,1997, and it was ******* nuts! Didn't get hit with any piss bombs, but there were several occasions before, during, and after the game where me and my buddies almost got in fights with gator fans. Good times.

We had a great time. Sat in section 43, surrounded by gators, and everyone was very nice. We all just joked about the back and forth turnovers. One of the best road stadiums I've been too.

Our student section is weak now. They didn't bother to show up until halfway through the first quarter.

Gameday picked North Dakota over Gainesville when the Vols are in town. This rivalry ain't what it used to be and I don't blame them.

Tennessee needs to get it's sh!t together.

We had a great time. Tailgated at a great spot between the rowing team and physical therapy students. I'll try to post pics of the eye candy that was there.

Walking to the stadium some Gator fans invited us to have a beer with them. So after about 12 beers, 5 vodka & soda's, 2 shots of tequila, and shot of fireball I was good and ready for the game. :)

After the game...well the 4th quarter we went back and fired the grill back up and hung out a while. We then went to a bar where the daughter of a friend works.

Good time...game sucked.

Yesterday was our 3rd trip to the Swamp for a game. Other than watching our offense we had a good time. I've never had a problem down there.

UF fans were a little off... I was there for almost a half hour before anyone called me Gator Bait.
