The VOLS will have more Total,Avg per game Rushing yds this year whether Peterson or Worley starts.= The O Line will be one of the best in the country. Good RB depth and experience, pretty good talent(maybe Green). Better D line will give Vols more time of possession by pressure+incomplete passes, even with the hurry up pro style

I feel like John Madden has a VN account when I see that garbage. I feel like starting a thread titled:

"THE TRUE KEY TO WINNING A NC....OUTSCORE ALL OF YOUR OPPONENTS (AND BE IN A BCS CONFERENCE, OR NO CONFERENCE AT ALL)!"

Need some more RBs, then we can be a force. Tom Smith and Alden Hill look like possible LBrs to me... R Neal is good but not great. He has explosive speed but can never seem to make that, move, that great RBs have that gets them breaking away to daylight.. Marlin Lane has the tools, but Im not sure that his knee has ever gotten back to 100%
Bottom line is Tennessee needs some Hoss RBs.

Wished they would come to lexington tn and take a look at AJ Green here think Trent Richardson with Chris Johnson speed kid is a beast and loves to run over people..

Mostly agree. But I can't say I would call Neal's speed "explosive".

It's been a long time since we've had a RB on the Hill with explosive speed, IMHO.

Saying the VOLS running game will be better this year is kind of a low bar dont you think?

Ummm. I disagree. As we all know, it could be a lot worse. But I think it will be better for the fact that bray is gone and Chaney wont be throwing the bomb on 3rd and 1

And we also put our defense back on the field a bunch because we liked to throw deep on 3 & 1 instead of going for the first down. We needed to control the clock more last year so we could keep our horrible D on the sideline. Instead of doing that, we ran a hurry up offense and took lots of chances on 3rd and short that didn't usually work out.

I keep seeing this. I think the times we took a chance on 3rd and short with a pass were fewer than you think. Like less than a dozen times all season.

It's more about the situations he called the plays in than how many times he did it. On our own 25 after our defense gave up a heart wrenching, game changing 80 yard run.. then call this, go 3 and out, and take 20 seconds off the game clock so our demoralized D is right back on the field. Chaney had no empathy for giving the defense time to compose themselves.

I hope your correct, but I can see the Vols struggling to score points this year....I can't see us lining up and running over anyone.....I hope I'm wrong, but I sure don't see much explosiveness/big play potential....kicking game will probably be more of the same....
