Coaches poll will be released when they get around to it. I expect to move upward to 21st or so....

edited to update:

Well, the new rankings we release and we moved up to 23rd, which I find very disappointing and a bit irritating. One glaring example of what I think is an unfair ranking is that UCLA stands at 12-9, lost a match to Oregon Sunday and moved up to 21st from 22nd. How does that make sense? How about Arizona, 18 & 8, lost on Sunday and moved up from 21st to 20th.

Honestly, I'm just befuddled by this. Makes no sense, to me at least.

Oh well, the girls just need to keep winning and we'll move up a little more each week. :)

top 14 teams - 8 from the Big 10. Several open ended questions from lack of knowledge that may also be of interest to other boarders. Are some states high school systems known for supporting volleyball as a premier sport ?How does TN become a destination of choice for top volleyball players, as in softball and basketball?

As a neophyte volleyball enthusiast, I'm under the impression that, like softball, the west coast is the high school hotbed of volleyball. Also, the Midwest (Big 10) country is also prominent. It seems clear to me that the SEC as a league is not highly regarded, nor is the Southeastern US thought of a prime recruiting area. I think the later conditions in regard to the SEC/territory is seen pretty clearly in the polls. Or maybe I'm just imagining a bias against the SEC and others areas of the country are just that much better. Seems odd that that would be the case, but I've been wrong many times before.
