What if people "who know" actually are fed wrong info because they know the Gruden talk would explode.

This is completely different from Dooley was hired.

Kiffin bolted 20 days before national signing day and we were left scrambling to find a coach. No coach wanted to Kiffin their current program and have to round out a class with little to no time.

With time to search and time for coaches to get their affairs in order, we'll end up with someone better than Dooley.

I have wondered if Gruden and Hart talked and Gruden expressed no interest but recommended someone else, let's say a Stoops-type hire, and agreed to not deny the rumors just to throw of the trail while this "big splash" was pursued.
