We were handed a crap hand. 31 days out from NSD with zero momentum, no bowl victory, and half the offensive starts bailing or graduating.

Yes we fell short. Anyone thinking Butch is a miracle worker needs to wake up. He is a coach and while I think he will be great he isn't proven like Saban or cum. Cut him some slack before we BBQ the Guy publicly.

He did get North to replace Hunter. He got two good qbs that are his type of players and are dual threats.

we got a RB who may be a sleeper and runs a 4.4. Weisman is also underrated.

Point is we improved. we took a step forward and that is all you can ever ask.

We did get better today.

So lighten up people. If you thought we were getting a top ten class right now your just a fool.

Love it, we have sleeper RB recruited by a sleeper coaching staff. I feel like Rip Van Winkle and we are only half way through our nap. Wake up guys.

We took a step forward.

The rest of the sec took three.

And there you go. Just proved the op's point. Some of you will never be satisfied unless we win every game and all the top recruits. Then if that were to happen you would complain we didn't win by enough.

I believe every one should have a right to their own opinion but, it is time for all you negative people to just shut up and listen to others. I for one am tired of you stupid comments. If you were such an expert put your application in for the job and see if you can do better. I didn't think so.

Just give it a rest.

You are absolutely realistic and correct. This site is overrun with fools, many of which are quote "insiders" and their blind sheep worshipers. Sickening

I believe every one should have a right to their own opinion but...

Yea right, only if the opinion mirrors your own. If you don't want to hear conflicting opinions watch Oprah. Other than that, get thicker skin because it's going to be a bumpy ride.

Oh my.

So now if you live in reality, you are expecting a top three class and an undefeated national championship season. Its like we are reliving the past three years again

Guys stop for one second and look. This class besides a select few is just awful. There are kids given scholarships that have no business playing in the SEC. more than 50% of this class will never contribute and if they do then we will be fighting kentucky for the bottom of the sec.

So just what the h8ll is your suggestion there sunshine? Fire the staff, pay recruits, what? Go back to sleep Rip and we'll wake you after a 8 win regular season (with a bowl win) headed for a top 10 recruiting finish. I mean whats with the steady drip of sarcasm laced with doom? What good does that do ANYONE?

Those having a nightmare and those having a wet dream are equally asleep.... and neither are experiencing reality.

Jones was put in a tough situation and didn't pull off a big miracle. His job got harder because he still has to prove he can coach... and more than like has 3 seasons to do it.

So.... those that need to "wake up" include anyone who thinks things will "be just fine" or that anything was concluded today.

Jones has to take young skill players working behind one of the deepest, most experienced, most talented OL's in the country and score points. If he can coach... that will happen.

He has to take a bunch of athletic DB's, a bunch of once highly regarded DL prospects, and a pretty thin LB roster and figure out a way to slow opponents down. If he can coach... well let's just say he won't give up 37 ppg.

He didn't inherit a bad roster. IF HE CAN COACH then he has what he needs to beat someone he isn't supposed to beat.

IMHO, the window is narrow and he cannot afford to write this year off regardless of how hard the schedule is. In '14 the schedule may be a tad lighter but he will also play a bunch of young guys because this class was not the miracle we wanted.

Yes it is. Those who blindly follow the negative aren't being "realistic" and they ARE sheep... just a different flock.

CDD inherited a mess. It was reasonable to give him 3 years to dig out of it and prove he could coach. He was given 3 years... failed... and was fired. The ridiculous pessimist will predict failure every time... and be right some times. When they're finally wrong then they can handwave that they are happy to be wrong. It is the cowards way out.

You might as well get used to that pattern because it will be repeated until lightning strikes for UT. Jones will get his 3 years. Whether you are delusional enough to think this class does not matter or delusional enough to believe it is the end of Jones' run.... he's still going to get a shot at turning the program around. When/if he fails.... someone else will get their shot.

IMO, Jones will get four years, bare minimum. Unless his first three years are all four win seasons.

I guess all these "realists" prove to recruits how great a fanbase UT has....

"This is what you get when you hire Cincy".
"These guys don't belong in the SEC"
"We didn't pay enough"
.......

Opposing coaches print this junk off. They share it with recruits. They point recruits to this site so they don't have to say bad things about a coach... essentially, they let the "realists" (actually pessimists, negavols, or whatever) do their negative recruiting for them.
