IMO, Jones will get four years, bare minimum. Unless his first three years are all four win seasons.

I predicted Dooley's fate when people were saying the same thing about him.

I am not sure Jones has to win the SEC but there better be reason that he's not far away by the end of year 2.... and that is a VERY tall order.

Dooley didn't have as big on a contract or as big of a guaranteed buyout as Jones does.

Out of the recruits we have committed, only a select few had offers from other SEC schools.....this tells the story of the state of the program....unfortunately......we have hit rock bottom.....Tennessee Football is dead for all practical purposes

So just what the h8ll is your suggestion there sunshine? Fire the staff, pay recruits, what? Go back to sleep Rip and we'll wake you after a 8 win regular season (with a bowl win) headed for a top 10 recruiting finish. I mean whats with the steady drip of sarcasm laced with doom? What good does that do ANYONE?

You obviously missed the point. Not surprising.

We were handed a crap hand. 31 days out from NSD with zero momentum, no bowl victory, and half the offensive starts bailing or graduating.

Yes we fell short. Anyone thinking Butch is a miracle worker needs to wake up. He is a coach and while I think he will be great he isn't proven like Saban or cum. Cut him some slack before we BBQ the Guy publicly.

He did get North to replace Hunter. He got two good qbs that are his type of players and are dual threats.

we got a RB who may be a sleeper and runs a 4.4. Weisman is also underrated.

Point is we improved. we took a step forward and that is all you can ever ask.

We did get better today.

So lighten up people. If you thought we were getting a top ten class right now your just a fool.

excuses, gus disagrees.

I feel bad for all the coaches when we lose a game.. the lynch mob will be forming at the rock, mattresses ablaze, campus torn to shreds, people threatening to never give UT another penny.. give me a break!!! Good Lord, the only way to get up from the bottom is to rebuild.. not from the top down or middle up.. we are the support system and in this house we'll be there to support them all.. recruits don't need to see or hear so much negativity.. no wonder they don't come to UT.. blah blah blah.. I'm sick and tired of all the negativity.. you feel you can do better, I'll personally call Dr Cheek or Mr. Hart to let them know others can run that program better...want Joan Cronan out too? Might as well, enough complaining about everything else!!

How much lower can we fall? If this is not rock bottom....where is? Are you saying we have yet to hit rock bottom?

Are you kidding, we're TENNESSEE! We just won a national championship! Well we didn't win it this decade...or last decade...but the decade before that. When most of these recruits were 3 years old. We don't have to rebuild! Sure the other programs went through rebuilding periods, but we're special cause...Gruden coached here...as a GA!

But seriously, I'm with you on that one.

Maybe there wouldn't have been such a backlash if the OP didn't say "it's only so & so month" everytime recruiting concerns were mentioned.:hi:

Guys stop for one second and look. This class besides a select few is just awful. There are kids given scholarships that have no business playing in the SEC. more than 50% of this class will never contribute and if they do then we will be fighting kentucky for the bottom of the sec.

That's what a lot of mouth breather true vol fan sunshine pumpers on here just can't understand.

A quick glance through the offer sheets on most of these guys showed they had little to no interest from other SEC schools and, last I checked, that's who we need to be competing and winning battles against.

Striking out completely on Ford, Lawson, Bell, Bellamy, Boyd, and Levenberry just crushed this class.

Jones and company better be really good at coaching 'em up and they better get a lot better on closing with big time recruits next season.

I would say going winless for a couple of seasons would be more along the line of rock bottom. Things could still be worse than what they are now.

Because they had sooooo much to work with in one effing month.

You redneck idiots need to fall off the face of the earth for the betterment of society.

And there you go. Just proved the op's point. Some of you will never be satisfied unless we win every game and all the top recruits.

Being dissatisfied with this recruiting class does not fit the criteria you stated above.

Then if that were to happen you would complain we didn't win by enough.

I believe every one should have a right to their own opinion but, it is time for all you negative people to just shut up and listen to others

Translation: You can say what you want, so long as it isn't negative and doesn't cast a bad light on UT. This is the CockyTalk Manifesto.

. I for one am tired of you stupid comments. If you were such an expert put your application in for the job and see if you can do better. I didn't think so.

Bosgap?

Just give it a rest.

For the record, I think UT ended up with a solid recruiting class.

right now your just a fool.

Quick note: When you use a contraction of the words "you" and "are" you'll want to just be sure and include the apostrophe and the "e".

As in "you're" a great speller.

:)

Just messing...
