Does it have to be Texas Hold'em? I hate that stupid game. How about 5 card stud or 5 card draw?

I don't care for Texas Hold'em because it's getting killed by saturation. I liked watching the poker tournaments on
ESPN but anymore you can find a poker tournament anytime you turn on the TV and you see the same tired old A--holes playing Texas Hold'em. We've tried it at our family poker night and nobody likes the game. As for the TV players, with the exception of Chris Moneymaker, I wish they all could LOSE.

However , your suggestion of a tournament is intriguing. How could we do it and stay out of jail?

this can be done, I was going to do one with the Tucker Max Message Board but missed it.....

someone needs to go to DSIpoker.com and see what you can find.....

At least a VolNation softball tournament. Lets see $125.00 entry fee, probably C or D class teams.Usssa qualifier (gets um every time).

Sounds good to me. Freak said we can have it at his house. He's got plenty of hot dogs to go around.

I've played poker since I was a little kid, taught by my ex-Navy grandfather. I only picked up hold 'em in the last 2-3 years, but it's about all I play now. We have a weekly game with 8-14 friends, and it's really a ton of fun. Probably not as "fitting" for a family poker night, but with a large table (or two) and a little "incentive" for the winners. . . .tough to beat.

Play any thing from pineapple to shanghai to 5 card draw for all I care.

Is there a way we could get a private table online somewhere like partypoker.net?

Not really into the "online thing." It takes, possibly, the most important aspect of poker out of the equation. Especially in a game like Hold 'Em, you have GOT to be able to read people to win.

I agree with your post 100%, but it will be hard for me to slip out from Delaware, Ohio with a baby on the way to play poker.

Well, you could always bring the misses with you. . . .I bet there will be someone here to take care of the baby if it comes!
