Happy Halloween Everyone!

No Candy for you Cajuns this week.

Not much news today....
An Ainge update courtesy of the Tennessean, and a few notes from Gentry Estes at tfpOnline....

Tennessean: Update on the most closely watched ankle in Tennessee
"There's no doubt in my mind that I'm going to be ready to play," said Ainge, who didn't practice Monday and was wearing a protective walking boot. "Other than that, it's just a matter of getting rid of the swelling. We're doing a lot of treatment and getting it ready."

as to whether or not the play was called...
Ainge injured his ankle on what he said was a called quarterback draw near the goal line last Saturday ...

"I'm feeling good," he said.
"I'm not worried if I miss a day of practice or two days of practice that I wouldn't be physically on my game. I'm not worried about anything like that. Most of my preparation game week is always mental anyway. If anything, I can do more of that, which could end up helping me out."
Still, Coach Phillip Fulmer wants to see Ainge be able to practice some before proclaiming his junior quarterback completely ready.
"He needs the work," Fulmer said. "A receiver going in and running a couple of crossing routes and catching them is a whole lot different than a quarterback having to see all the fronts and coverages and all that business. He needs to practice. Hopefully, he'll be able to."

tfpOnline: Various Notes
LSU out for Revenge...
"They don’t need any newspaper clippings," UT cornerback Jonathan Wade said. "They don’t need anything, no motivational speaking. They can just put on a film or look at the score and see what happened.

"I’m pretty sure this game has been circled on their calendar since it ended last year."

"Any time that you finish second on the scoreboard, you remember," LSU coach Les Miles said. "Our football team does. It’s not just another Saturday."

Swain Guts Out Gamecock Game...
"It might be a miracle," Swain said, "but Friday night I felt pretty good in the hotel. I was walking on it, kind of testing it. I was like, ‘All right, it feels a lot better than what I expected.’ I went out there in warm-ups and tried it and gave it a go."

Swain wound up catching three passes despite a high ankle sprain he aggravated the previous week against Alabama. He returned to practice Monday and said he doesn’t plan to miss time again after growing "rusty."

"I saw those guys on the other side of the field," Swain said. "I saw the lights. I don’t know. I just felt like I could go out there and make some plays, and I was able to do that."

More on the Ainge Draw Play...
Erik Ainge said Monday the play that led to his sprained ankle was a designed quarterback run. Facing second-andgoal from South Carolina’s 5-yard line, Ainge lost 4 yards and his leg twisted awkwardly on a tackle by Rodney Paulk.

"It could have been a lot worse," Ainge said. "I just thank God for that. I’ve obviously got someone watching me while I’m playing." An offside penalty against the Gamecocks waved the play off anyway.

"We knew what they were doing," Ainge said. "It was a good idea. They just beat us in a couple of spots, and I shouldn’t have tried to fight (the tackle). It wouldn’t have been as bad if I just wouldn’t have tried to fight it."

CBS'll Decide next week...
CBS used its six-day selection option for Nov. 11, meaning Tennessee must wait until Sunday to find out its start time at Arkansas.

Three additional games are being held: Georgia at Auburn, South Carolina at Florida and Alabama at LSU. One of the games will be at 3:30 p.m. on CBS, with others on ESPN at 7:45 p.m. and ESPN2 at 7 p.m. The fourth and final selection will be the Lincoln Financial game at 12:30 p.m.

This is such a huge game for us....
Go Vols!!!

Have a great Halloween VolNation!

Good stuff, owh.

Maybe Ainge will come out with the attitude wanting to make up for his game against LSU last year, just as LSU is wanting to do.

turnover battle will be huge. i think ainge will play on the ankle but he will struggle a little bit. hence the offense wont be as effective. but if we get some turnovers and good special teams play we could make up for it with good field position. also, i keep waiting for our run game to just click like a light switch and bang we'll be running for 150 a game, but now i wonder if i should just give up hope on that til next year. i never wouldve thought with our rb's that the run game would have struggled so much.
