Samford has been up and down in recent years
They've been used as a bit of a farm team as guys like Sonny DiChiara have moved on to P4 teams. They lost some quality guys to Florida, Auburn and Alabama during the portal period.

With the addition of Texas and Oklahoma, the SEC implemented that each team will play two teams every year, which for the Vols it is Vandy and Bama. Both were road games last year, so they had to double up one to get them to be alternating going forward.
