That's great UT is ranked eighth.

I doubt they are the eighth best team right now though.

it's still hard to believe sometimes just how far we've really came in just a few years. WAY TO GO GUYS!!!:dance2:

There not even close to being the 8th best team in the country. They are in the 20-25 range though.

anyone past the top 4 or 5 will rise and fall all season. I don't think there are truly 10 that should be better than we are.

Were def not a top 10 team right now. Maybe in the 15-20 range but def not top 10. This team has all the potential in the world to but a top 10 by the end of the season & make a big run in the tourney but thats only if they reach there potential. They have alot to work on.

I believe whall is smoking dope.

I look at the teams around Tennessee and I see them on a neutral court better than the teams behind them. So I think it is a fair ranking. Honestly, Temple is in big trouble.

then tell me who that top 10 should be? Most of the teams in that range are badly flawed somewhere, so I'm wondering who you would put up there?

BPV beat me to it. There are many teams this time of year trying to iron out weak points in their game.

Um no this team is not a top ten team yet by any means and Gonzaga proved it. They are too young, and way too out of control at times. The defense is also consistently lacking from what it has been in years past. It is very early in the season and they will get much better as the season progresses. They do have the talent to be a top ten team, but right now no way.

do what? this team has played awful halfcourt D since it arrived back on the basketball map.

Again, who are the 10 teams that are clearly better than this one? Rankings aren't just about your gut feel as to how this team stacks up historically.

I was really referring to our full court pressure of the past several seasons, and our ability to get opponents to turn the ball over.

IMO i just dont see how we r ranked 8th. i mean yea zaga beat us and we made a little comeback in the end but i just dunno about 8th.we arent playing like an 8th ranked team

Our defense has a long way to go. Defensively we were MUCH better last year. We are having a much harder time with our press, forcing turnovers, and steals than we have in the past three years. We are not doing a good job contesting shots and are letting guys in the lane too easily. Offensively we have a lot of talent, but until Tatum, Hopson, and Woolridge start playing better defense we are an incomplete team.

Guys like Chism need to learn to put a hand in the shooter's face. I'm tired of Chism being close to a 3-pt shooter and just lunging his body at him a little bit when a true contest of the shot could force a miss.

Turnovers, both the ones we commit and the ones we cause, are the biggest challenges for this team. We've committed about 25 more this year than last, and have caused way fewer ones. The biggest culprits in committing them are not the young ones; its Tyler, Wayne, and Prince. The young guns have been decent in the TO area when you look at the stats. But you can point the finger at them in causing TO's.

Didn't know JP was a post. And I thought Tyler was a 4; but he does post up some. I would love it if Wayne would post up!

JP and Wayne have committed almost 1/2 the turnovers this year as compared to the 36 games that they played last year. Tyler can be somewhat forgiven. He still has a pretty good assist to TO ratio.
