Just a little something that happened to cross my alleged mind this morning while I was in the shower.

Florida BETTER be undefeated. They haven't played anybody yet.

You guys looking forward to the Texas game?

Kentucky's Lady Cats are 8-0 under Micki DeMoss, woohoo!

Our mens' team, however, is in trouble.

Yeah, that win against 7-1 and ranked Wake Forest sure was horrible. And don't get me started on the obviously pitiful (and ranked) 7-2 Syracuse team they beat the very next night.

Yeah, Gators sure haven't played anyone, have they?

I think everyone else who actually has a clue what they are talking about is wincing that you've embarrassed the Vol fans here already. So I'll just move right along ...

Good job so far Vols. Maybe if Kentucky is truly down, the Gators and the Vols can try to take over the SEC E in b-ball, even if we both left a little to be desired on the gridiron in '05.

Was watching the UK/IU game and they listed some teams that were unranked but dangerous... Tennessee made the list.

Its hard to say we aren't dangerous, I know we haven't beaten any top ranked team so far this year but we have beaten some good teams....note I said good...the Texas game will tell us what our boys are made of

Pearl is a really good coach. This team already has more respect the first few weeks of the season then it had with 4 years of Buzz :focus:

It's just EAST Tennessee State. They made it to the tourney a couple of years ago and almost advanced. That's something isn't it? :dunno:

i believe they were a 15 seed, but i know they played Wake Forest and technically should have beat them but lost the game in the last minute... they are a tough team, but they have switched coaches since then and arent AS good as they once were, but still a very dangerous team.

Hey Gator why would us Vol fans be embarrassed about what a cat fan has to say about the gators.

I'm not embarassed by what Brian McCat said. Sounds like a pretty intelligent assessment to me.

The Vols are undefeated but have their first real game coming up. The question really is how long we can stay in the game with our depth? Probably not long enough to keep the loss close.

I also don't believe you should underestimate Kentucky just because they are struggling. The Wildcats make a habit of playing better than expected.

All the Vols have to do is beat Texas and they will have secured a place in the top 25. Boy - there's a tall order.

The Vols are playing at the level of a good Mid-Major school. Which is right were they should be. They are not talented enough to battle for a conference title. In fact, it would be a big stretch to expect this team to beat a ranked opponent this year.

But they are improving and playing at a level beyond their expectations. So in the coming years we should be pleasantly suprised by this team. And, it's about time we were.

:eek:lol: :lolabove: That's all I have to say about that. If we can just keep it respectable (less than 20 points), I'll be happy.

Not meaning to rain on anybody's parade, but there are some really unrealistic expectations surrounding this year's squad. I'd love to see us pull off a couple of upsets. . . . but counting on them to relieve all the pain caused by our football team is going to leave a lot of people disappointed. 2 or 3 years, and we could be REAL contenders.

I understand everyones concern about the bb guys, and I agree they have weaknesses. Everyone seems to be very cautious about talking them up, Im wondering if its hangover from the football meltdown as much as its that we havent played any ranked teams?

With the biscuits we have this year it's is nice just to be able to win the games we are suppose to win. Anything else to me is gravy. Let Pearl put a year in the kitchen to lay some poppin fresh dough down on the pan and dem biscuits are gonna rise higher than a cat's head. No gravy needed, just butter and a hot knife.
