I saw it earlier. No real surprises. I'd love to win out until Kentucky and have potentially two top 5 teams playing.

Unbelievable, considering we are relying on walkons. And even more astounding since our coach is so inadequate! (Parody-before some get their skirts over their head)

UNC is there because of talent, which they have...but I was most shocked that Vandy didn't break into the top 25. UT will have to play well at Georgia and I think Vandy will give us a game, South Carolina won't be a pushover either with Downey...dude is ridiculous, but if we can win those and stay undefeated in SEC play until Kentucky, we will definitely be in the top 5.

MSU is one of the best 6 teams in the country. They have some ugly losses, but all early. They are a legit final 4 type squad.

They looked truly horrible tonight. Like if we played LSU at home and won by 6 horrible. LSU is not even as bad as Iowa. It was worse than that.

I hope UConn and Michigan State are in our bracket this year. I would love to see Bruce beat some "legends" on his way to a deep run.

I want no part of Boeheim in our entire region. I also do not want an early game with a low seeded UNC team that might wake up any day.

BPV,
How many losses do you think Izzo will have? I think 4 more before March.

1/23 @ MINN 12:00 PM
1/26 @ MICH 7:00 PM
2/02 @ WIS 9:00 PM
2/06 @ ILL 9:00 PM
2/09 PUR 9:00 PM
2/20 OSU TBA
2/27 @ PUR TBA

I'd much rather catch UNC than MSU come March. MSU has guard play. UNC doesn't. Didn't see them tonight. Why'd they struggle?

Wow. I think with Evan Turner back Ohio State is very tough. Tubby at home will have his team fired up for their biggest attempt to make a statement. Same for Illinois. I think Wisconsin and Purdue are capable.

If they make it to March and only lose one or two more by then, they will get tons of respect from me and I would say they are one of the best 5-8 teams in the country.

This was Izzo about the game ""I'm used to our great teams playing with incredible emotion," Izzo said. "This team is not quite like that right now. ... I'm not happy with tonight's performance. I'm not happy with where we are."

"I'm starting to get concerned," said Michigan State's Draymond Green, who had 11 rebounds and nine points. "We play six of our next eight on the road. ... If we play like that, we're going to lose."

By the way it was nice to see Depaul get off the snide in the Big East. I do not think it is a sign of great things to come, but it does help the RPI a tiny bit.

Also the NC State team that Hat said would finish last in the ACC just beat Duke and it was not close.

Oh the reason they struggled was just that they let Iowa back in because they stopped playing with purpose when they were up big. They took bad shots and turned it over some. Against a team like Illinois it would have cost them the game.

#7 Michigan State 6-0 16-3
#19 Wisconsin 5-2 15-4
Illinois 4-2 12-7
#25 Ohio State 4-3 14-5
#15 Purdue 3-3 15-3
Minnesota 3-3 12-6
Michigan 3-3 10-8
Indiana 2-3 8-9
Northwestern 2-4 13-5
Iowa 1-5 7-12
Penn State 0-5 8-9

Can Illinois, Minnesota or Michigan go on a huge tear and win enough to get to the tournament? Can Northwestern go to their first tournament? I think the answer is no and no.

I think that Wisconsin is incredibly disciplined and well coached. I think that Ohio State with Turner back is underrated at 25. I think Purdue snapped out of their funk and will be dangerous in the tournament and I think any of the three are still capable of finishing ahead of Michigan State in the league. I think those are the only 4 going to the tournament, and I think the SEC is a better league this year.

Ole Miss, Kentucky, Tennessee, Miss. State, Vanderbilt and...just kidding, and no one. It is super unlikely that the SEC gets a 6th team in. But UGA who is last right now in our standings, just beat Ga Tech and would murder most of the Big 10.
