VOLS vs MTSU

Waiting on Smith: Tennessee point guard signee Ramar Smith of Detroit is awaiting the results of his most recent SAT attempt.

It's his last chance to qualify academically, as he's a few points short on his test score. Smith and the Vols hope to know the results of that SAT before the end of the month.

Mike Hamilton has agreed to a contract extension that will keep him as the University of Tennessee men’s athletic director through June 30, 2011. An official announcement is expected within a few days, according to a source close to the negotiations.

Hmm, anyone else realize that is when Fulmer's contract expires? Those of you that don't like him, better get used to him. I can see him moving up to take Mike's job in 6 years.

I like the MTSU addition. Nice little 2 1/2 hour-away in-state rivalry, especially with the ridiculous growth MT has experienced in the last decade.

Why are we going to LA-Lafayette? Did Buzz schedule that? I don't understand why we should be returning a game like that. As for the subject at hand, I agree that a game at MTSU is a good idea. Also, Pearl is the biggest straight-shooter out there. Notice his public comment that the MTSU game is a "nothing-to-gain game for us." :birgits_giggle: I suppose he means that winning will gain us nothing. That comment may end up on MTSU's bulletin board.

I would rather see us playing MTSU, an in-state rival, than say.....LA-Lafayette, even if it is a "nothing to gain" game, which could also be said about playing LA-Lafayette. At least playing MTSU, it isn't too far for either team's fans to travel. And playing at MTSU would showcase the Vols to fans in another part of the state.
