SF
Adonis Thomas

**What is a power wing? Adonis Thomas is a power wing. The Memphis beast worked his way to the cup whenever he wanted exploding out of spin moves or leveraging his way to field goals after contact. Thomas was a force that required Indiana Elite to move two help defenders his way every time. Thomas also hit cutters at a good rate (5 assists) including a highlight reel no-look pass behind his head that stopped all crowd conversations.

Johnny Williams III (J3) from Memphis Southwind is one that Pearl has been on for at least a year. He will be a sophomore this upcoming year. Older brother plays at George Mason (Part of the class that Pearl recruited with Leslie McDonald who is at UNC).

Add Chris Thomas, 2013 SG from Denver, CO. Claims Tennessee is his leader but will not make a decision until his senior season. #3 player in the 2013 class according to ESPN. Has offers already from Arizona, Colorado, Ohio State, Michigan State and California I believe.

Thanks for the write up. I had been wondering where we stood with some future basketball prospects. I like our chances with a lot of these guys. Another solid season by Pearl could go a long way toward getting some of these guys

It sucks losing Caldwell, but maybe he'll take a visit before the signing period. According to Tos, Deandre Daniels has contacted Tenn, Kansas, and Uk about his recruitment. He's rated the 10th best prospect in the nation. He's a 6'8 forward prospect who is currently committed to Texas.

Jarnell Stokes:

Stokes likes Kansas | ThShiver.com: The sports leader in University of Kansas basketball and football recruiting

One of the must see players on the Nike EYBL circuit this summer was 2012 big man, Jarnell Stokes (Memphis, Tn/Central). The 6′8″ 250 pound big man showed off his wide range of skills throughout the circuit, including his ability to handle the ball and pass out of the post. For his size, Stokes has tremendous athletic ability on both ends of the court, and combined with his size and strength, makes Stokes one of the best rebounders in the 2012 class.

TheShiver.com caught up with Stokes shortly after his Memphis YOMCA 16u team held off a furious comeback by a tough Boo Williams 16u team during the Nike EYBL Peach Jam tournament.

“A lot of teams breakdown when the other team starts coming back, you just have to stay focused and know that you’re the better team and you can make a run to get back in the lead,” said Stokes about his team holding on for the win.

Stokes appears to be a man amongst boys throughout the summer, and according to him, the work he has done to improve his game is a big reason for that.

“I had one bad tournament but overall I’ve done pretty well. I’ve been working on versatility, hand-eye coordination, being able to pass the ball, and then being able to defend guards so I can play more of a 4 instead of a center,” said Stokes. ”I’ve been working on my jump shot a lot. I couldn’t show it a lot today, but I’ve been working on it,” he added.

As for his recruitment, Stokes has a short list so far but he’s looking to add to it in the very near future.

“I like Kansas. I like Tennessee. I like Missouri and Memphis,” said Stokes of the schools he’s interested in thus far. ”I haven’t heard from a lot of schools from the southeast, but location doesn’t really matter. I’m really open right now,” he added.

The prevailing thought with Stokes, like many other Memphis products before him, is that he will end up staying close to home and attending Memphis. Stokes insist, however, that his recruitment is very much wide open.

“I mean, I like them (Memphis), but I am still definitely open,” said Stokes. I watched other schools on television and Kansas has a lot of versatile bigs,” Stokes added about the Jayhawks.

And like GoVols2003 said, JWIII out of Memphis Southwind will be a lot of people's top priority.

Kevin Ware is said to be a mixture of J.P. Prince and Ramar Smith. He's more athletic than both.
