Oregon 45 PSU 7. PSU seed drops from 5 to 8
Texas 31 UGA 10. UGA seed drops from 7 to 9

#3 SMU + #4 Boise both win and retain same seeds.

Seeds 1-4 remain the same. 1.Oregon. 2.Texas 3.SMU 4.Boise

Other 8 seeds become:
12 ASU @ 5 ND
9 UGA @ 8 PSU
11 BAMA @ 6 OSU
10 IND @ 7 TENN (Vols host first round win over Indiana and face #2Texas in quarterfinals).

Would ya’ll be happy with that.
The committee still has 2 Big10 teams hosting first round.
Sankey still happy he got Bama in and 4 SEC teams in.
No conference teams play each other. So both SEC and Big10 happy.
TV people happy with some compelling games, storylines, and name brands in all first round games.

Can Oregon beat PSU by 38 points and can Texas beat UGA by 21? Although not highly likely, it certainly is possible.
Go Ducks! Go Horns!

It’s more likely Georgia blows out Texas than the reverse.

I agree but they wouldn’t move Texas below us. They’ve been artificially ranked too high all year like Ohio State, Penn State, and Notre Dame
Yes. Texas just has too far to fall in the seeding to get behind the Vols. So I didn’t even look at that scenario.
I’m hoping that the Texas coaches have scoured over the UGA/OLE MISS tape and can duplicate what the Rebels did.

Everything except SMU winning. I want Clemson to win by 3 and That would drop Ala out

My concern with that is that the Committee currently has SMU at the 3 seed. Not sure how much they’d drop them. Clemson would replace SMU as the 3 with the auto bid possibly unless they sink below Boise or ASU/ISU winner. So as much as I’d like to see Clemson bump Bama out of the playoffs, I don’t want that if it means us losing a home game.

No matter how these games affect Tennessee ( we're probably a road team, period)
I'm pulling for ga to beat Texas. I can't stand either program but I definitely don't want Texas wading in here and winning the conference in their first season. Their fans are already insufferable. Can you imagine if they win the conference championship. Geez

24 hours ago I would have been with you on this. But after what we saw last night and what I heard last night there's no path for Tenn to be at home now. There's a clear bias at play that unfortunately negatively impacts the Vols.

It would almost be worth it.

True. But nothing is more insufferable than a teenage boy on all fours literally barking at an elderly woman wearing an orange dress.

SMU is ranked behind us at #8. They are only 3 seed because they are being assumed as ACC champion.

If they lose to Clemson, they'd either be 11 seed in place of Bama, or out of the Playoffs.

I think Oregon will win by that much. I don't see any a chance that Texas throttles Georgia like that though.
Lots of moving parts here. Say Texas loses and Oregon loses....we aren't hosting and neither is Ohio State. We could end up anywhere at this point...South Bend, Happy Valley, Austin, Columbus. I don't see any chance we end up in Athens, Tuscaloosa, or Eugene. No matter where we go, their fans are going to be hyped tf up 🤣

I just don't see a reason for Oregon, who will potentially have 2 more games to play, wasting too much time and effort on Penn State.

I think they get a nice lead then grind the clock on Penn State without risking too many injuries or needing to blow them out.

Franklin has proven pretty hapless, Penn State is a paper tiger on the field, and there's nothing in it for Oregon to go nuts on them.
