Behind a combined two-hit shutout by Kyle Serrano, Andy Cox and Andrew Lee, the No. 25 Tennessee baseball team blanked in-state SEC rival and 4th-ranked Vanderbilt, 7-0, to win the series in front of a season-high 3,306 at Lindsey Nelson Stadium on Sunday.

No drama in this one because it was All to easy with The Vols winning easily 7-0 in a shutout.
I don't recall in a long time the Vols not just winning a series vs a top 10 team but also included for the series win a freakin shutout.
If it has happened must be a long time.
The Vols after a horrid game one loss rebound with a late come from behind win 10-9, then win easily in a shutout 7-0 to win the Series.

Vandy shall forever this miserable they could have won this series but didn't with the Vols winning two games in a row vs the Number 4 team.

It's possible the Game two great come from behind win was a season changer. Vol's haven't slowed down as they scored all 7 runs vs Vandy today, and throwing players out at home continued.

After the fiasco of the Gamecocks weekend the Vols appear to have learned from it, and have gotten out of the mud that has been the slump.

A major statement made with this series win over the Number 4 team considering the slump they were in, and after the game one blown loss along with how they won game two.

Kind of missing seeing the worry warts on here. I guess they will show up again when they lose one.

Big series win against a high quality, ranked opponent. Came close to pulling it off in the first two games at USCe. This team is for real. That second game come from behind against Vandy was special. Today's game was a dominating performance.

Well, I think baseball was Vandy's last, and really only, ever, athletic claim over us. Looks like we just own the state and them in everything now. Very happy to see success on the diamond again. Go Vols!

Oh, they'll be back when we lose another series, reminding us of the glory days of Rod D (lol) and that Serrano is a flop since UT isn't undefeated right now.

Huge, huge series win over Vandy this weekend, though. Serrano is going to get it done soon.

Not trying to hijack the thread, but we are 0-2 the last two seasons in football.

Nevertheless, great win against a big rival who happened to be highly ranked.

So encouraged to watch young Serrano get tougher after a shaky start. He is a bulldog! (Not to be confused with the sedentary mutant rat at GA). Great job, Vols!

I don't miss 'em because if they're not here that usually means we're winning.

Yes but those were the best 2 seasons Vandy has had in 100 years, and we went 5-7 both seasons. Wake me when they beat a good UT team.

great to see this team respond in such a positive manner after losing the way they did to South Carolina then to ETSU...previous years teams would have folded and the season unraveled...this may be the biggest series win of the year besides the obvious of a top 10 team

Saturday's comeback win I think was huge for this team. I think that was a turning point. Yes, they will still lose games but they are gonna compete the rest of the year. Big series win!
