Just hours after the UConn win UT coaches are at the Penny Hardaway Classic in Memphis checking in on JWIII, King, Hubbs, and Nichols among others. Other schools represented are UNC and Georgetown. Tony Barbee was spotted there as well.

Wonder what time he could have possibly got to Memphis? He was still at TBA around 7:30.

Had the air plane left at 8:00 or 8:15 EST, then he would have made the 400 mile trip to Memphis in
a little over an hour. Of course that 400 miles is probably less, due flying distance, rather than driving distance. Also, remember that Memphis is in the CST, which gives him an extra hour.
He could have left Knoxville at 8:15 EST and arrived in Memphis at 8:15 or 8:30 CST. Arriving at the game at 8:45 or 9:00 CST.

How often do our coaches have access to the private planes to make such trips?

I know one that does allow his to be used from time to time but there isnt an unlimited number of planes at the FB and BB coaches disposal. I am just curious how often they do in fact use them. I am almost certain CM used one after the Fla game.

If a coach needs to get somewhere in a hurry, it usually happens.

If coach Martin gets another scorer and a point guard look out next year. I hope getting Stokes out of Memphis opens up alot more players from that area. I think Martin can pull in those kids from Memphis.

is gtown and unc recruiting anyone other than king in memphis? I knew gtown already offered king but didnt think unc had.

Oh my gosh, just imagining two of the four for 2013 would be incredible.

orangelo were you there watching Hubbs play? Was this an individual invitation tourney or team tournament?

Just a one or two game invitational event. Not really a tournament. I saw him play last night at DC. Was told he had 25 tonight in Memphis tonight. Word is that NC has contacted and has interest in him. No offer yet though.

Right now as it stands we can't bring in anyone else next year we have no scholarships. It is likely atleast 1 will free up with someone leaving so we maybe able to ring someone in. Hopefully Mitchell, if it's not an elite player I'd rather just save the scholarship for '13 class.
