Tennessee broke a 3-3 tie on a two-out single by Zach Osborne in the bottom of the sixth inning and Nick Blount came on in the seventh to record his fifth save in the last five games as the Volunteers completed the series sweep of Alabama with a 5-3 win on a rainy Sunday afternoon at Lindsey Nelson Stadium.

Critical hits when the Vols needed them. Osbourne was a ace on offense, and defense with a critical 2 out rbi that scored 2 runs.
Two years in a row the Vols beat the Crimson Tide in a double header, and take the series.

The Third time is the charm with the Vols not only winning a division series but also the best result a sweep.

It feels excellent to be a Tennessee Vols fan sweeping the Crimson Tide, THe Gators lose to the Rebels on a throwing error, UK Wildcats embarass the UG Bulldogs, and either Vandy will lose to the Gamecocks or the Gamecocks lose to Vandy.

The Crimson Tide avoid the embarassment of blowing a lead for the 3rd straight game.

A twin killing double play for the final 3 outs.

I have been somewhat reserved on my belief that DS will get the job done here for the most part due to the competition he must pass in the SECOND but weekends like this one tell me he has a very good shot to get this program back to the top. Bama isn't very good but to sweep any team in the SEC is a great feet. Hats off to the Vols!
