The Tennessee pitching staff worked out of jams all night long, stranding 14 runners, including nine in scoring position, as the Volunteers (15-2) claimed their ninth straight win with a 5-3 victory over Austin Peay (8-7) in their first road game of the season in front of a standing-room only crowd of 892 at Raymond C. Hand Park.

Sadly, this was likely the Vols' best win of season so far. Austin Peay is a good team that has somewhat underperformed this season so far.

So should we not be excited at all?

Im hoping this means we are better than what we thought. I mean all a good team can do is beat the bad teams. By as much as possible that is, and they seem to be.

The Vols are in the grove with the homeruns.
Fantastic that Norfork hit a hr to dead to center to start the game.
The first road game for the Vols is a win their 9th straight win.
Most since 2005 when they won 11 straight.
They went 15-2 also in 2001, and 2004.
They made it to the CWS in 2001, and 2005. Still a lot of baseball left to play but right now the Vols are playing like the 2001, and 2005 Vols teams that made it to the CWS.

I'm happy with the record, but we've also played a crappy schedule. Still at least we won them.

Definitely better than in recent years. I'll reserve any excitement until I see if we can actually make the SEC Tournament.

It doesn't matter what happens from now on. This team is going nowhere under Raleigh. FIRE HIM, HAMILTON! We aren't even competitive. I said it last year, but I held out some hope. It was wasted hope. Fire Todd Raleigh!
