Florida starting pitcher Hudson Randall threw a 74-pitch complete-game shutout to lead the Gators to a 3-0 victory over the Tennessee baseball team on Friday night at McKethan Stadium. He out-dueled Volunteer starter Rob Catapano who twirled a gem himself, allowing just two runs and striking out three over a career-high 6.2 innings.

Did better than I expected

Did you think it would be a blowout?

2nd Straight SEC game with the Vols getting shut out.

Vols fail to take advantage of their opportunities. One of their best chances to score was Thurber at 2nd base, and what was almost a home run, or a triple.

The Bad news is the Vols can't sweep the Gators. The Good news is they can still win their first division series, Gruver pitches on Saturday, and Saturday's game starts early afternoon not in the evening.

I was hugely proven wrong about my game one prediction.

It would be very somber if the UK Wildcats did not also lose to the Gamecocks.

Agreed. Shame on the Gators if they don't sweep. Very, very good pitching against very average pitching usually produces those results.

Winning one game, and still losing the series IMO is a minor accomplishment. The last two weekends Vols have failed to win 2 straight to win a division series.
They need to win as many division games in the 1st half, or likely it will be another year where they have to win in the final weekend to make it into the SEC tournament, and need help from other teams.

The Vols are not winless in the SEC like they were last year in the third division series but right now they are still stuck in the mud because of failure to win a division series.

My comment about winning a game being a huge accomplishment was because I believe tennessee has a very poor baseball team while florida is capable of winning a national title.

In all honesty, tennessee is really bad and their coach needs to be sent packing.

If florida drops a game, I will be disappointed and surprised.

Sent packing the same could be said about the Ole Miss coach. After more than 4 years the Rebels still have not made it to the CWS.

I would disagree that Tennesee is really bad. So I guess being third in base stealing is execrable. Yeah they have not won division series but they have beat the cupcake teams they should beat.

Really bad is the UGA Dawgs getting swept in the opening series, and losing to cupcake teams then they start to win games.

This isn't a trash talkin thing. This isn't a fl-tenn thing.

Being honest, without sugar coating it, tennessee is terrible.

I am seriously beginning to wonder if they will get a run this weekend
