The Florida pitching staff held the Tennessee offense in check and its offense put the game away late for the second straight day as the Gators claimed the series finale, 9-1, on Sunday afternoon at McKethan Stadium.

CTR is probbly history since his contract expires after this season. He has proven either he can't recruit or he can't coach, or maybe both. All I know is our baseball program has gone steadily downhill since he's been here...

Yep. I never cared for Delmonico's teams over-reliance on black, but geez the uniforms took a nose-dive after Raliegh took over.

Whoever is the next coach needs to do a major uniform redesign/overhaul.

Lost back to back games to back for the 1st time this season.
Same problems as yesterday a somber 7th innings, to many walks, and wasted opportunties with failure to produce critical hits.
Now 2-7 in the SEC along with Kentucky, and Auburn.

It is excellent the Vols play the Gamecocks at home starting on Thursday not having to wait until Friday. The Vols can make a statement on ESPNU winning their 1st series against the defending CWS Champs the Gamecocks.
Yeah the Vols just got swept by the Gators but I'm optimistic that it ignited them wanting to win a division series.

Man you really need to come to grips with reality. UT is a bad team, possibly the worst in the SEC. You've posted this same analysis for pretty much the 4th week in a row and you've been pretty much wrong each time. I don't know if you're just hoping you'll finally be right once or what, but I put the chances of UT winning the series against SC at extremely slim.

Raleigh is a ****ing joke. It is time to hire a search firm, Mike. Or maybe your car can make it past Western Carolina this time....

i don't know if you are the parent of a player.

however, whether you are or aren't, i say the following not to offend, but to be as honest as possible.

tennessee has a terrible baseball team.

florida seriously could have swept them with their second string

I am not a parent, or player of the Vols baseball team.

It's already concrete you think the Vols have a terrible baseball team so I don't interpret your comment the Gators could have swept them with their 2nd string as a insult.

Rollie Pollie brought this on himself. Bad juju.. Bad carma.. Things won't change till he identifies and apologizes to each and every human he has wronged... Hahahaha. But I think there is a vein of truth in that. One of my very old patients told me that once..( he ,Rollie Pollie , has some talented players he just can't bring them together... Cause he doesn't know how)

Ok well I disagree with you.
Yeah the Vols 2-7 in the SEC but so is Kentucky, and Auburn.
It's another poor start for the Vols but the regular season is not even close to over, and I'm still optimstic that they
can start winning division series which I think will start with the Gamecocks.
After getting embarassed by the Gators, and a contreversial call in game 3 the Vols will be unleashing their anger on the Gamecocks, and Presbyterian at home.

1). Yes Kentucky is 2-7, and who were their 2 wins against?

2) Why do you think that SC will be the Vols' first division series win? And the whole "anger/embarrassment" isn't a reason; if it were a reason they wouldn't have just gotten swept since they lost their first 2 SEC series. What in their first 9 SEC games gives you reason to believe they will suddenly win the series against a good SC team?

3) Unleashing against Presbyterian will mean jack squat. In case you haven't noticed, UT has beaten the horrible teams they've played and it's meant nothing about how they'll do against games that actually matter.

I understand being optimistic but you sound downright delusional at this point and grasping at straws.

1) The Vols

Against the top dog Gators they just could not take advantage of their opportunties, and even though the Gators won the last two games by 9, and 8 it still doesn't change the fact that the Gators needed 7 innings twice to make comebacks very slim scoring their most runs, and the Vols hung around .
1st two runs scored against Johnson by the Vols, and he was taken out of the game after giving up back to back to back hits.
The Vols will be facing another top 10 ranked division team except this time they will be playing at home, the Vols have not won on Friday vs a SEC team but this Thursday is when the series start's not Friday, the desperate team has won before Georgia 2 of 3 vs LSU, and I think the Vols are likely to end their drought by producing critical hits vs the Gamecocks.

3) Yeah but it's better to go into a division series winning than losing.

I'm going out on a limb (some limb) Vols have already quit listening to "Toad the West Sprocket and the Yes Men"

Tennessee loses to Presbyterian.

They have already lost to worst teams this season and The Blue Hoes have already beat the "genius" Leggett this season on a "neutral" field and have also beat Furman.

This anger unleashing and whipped dog theory you have is delusional at best Firestorm. Once a dog gets beat enough all they do is tuck their tail and hide. I would love nothing more than TN to beat SC. but the reality is Raleigh does not know how. Its not because we lack talent either.

Maybe this will convince if not than agree to disagree.
LSU desperate won a series vs the Rebels agaisnt a the same team that beat the Vols 2 out of 3, and they beat the amazing Rebels pitcher that did not have a loss until he faced the LSU Tigers.
No team has won a series against the Gamecocks this year, and they are coming into Tennessee at likely the worst time. Yeah they just swept the UK Wildcats, and the Vols just got swept by the top dog Gators but it's not like the Vols have no experience against a top 10 division team because they just played a top 10 division team. They could not produce the critical hits but I think that changes in the Gamecocks series.
The Vols can make a statement by being the 1st team to beat the Gamecocks in a series, winning their 1st division series, and

the Vols will be unleashing their anger on ...Presbyterian at home.

If Raleigh can get the Vols to dominate Presbyterian, I will be very impressed. It's important that UT show the ability to compete with the likes of the Big South Conference.

After all, it's not like they can count on getting many wins out of the Southeastern Conference. :bad:
