Vols find strength in an empty stadium

Whoever came up with the idea is a genius. Talk about a great way to keep them playing with a chip on their shoulder.

Awesome story. I know Neyland can be very powerful in the quiet beauty of it all.

what are they going to do this saturday to get up for the game, we need to really totaly dominate air force, we dont need to let up and beat them 28-17 , we need to beat them 55-7. just to send a message.

I seriously doubt that Fulmer would put up 55 points on Air Force if it was a an option. He's not one to run up the score. Maybe we can get to 42 though, he does allow that occasionally.

When I worked at the Athletic Dept. we had an event at the Wolf-Kaplan Center under the stadium early on a cold, snowy, Saturday December morning.

I was the first one to arrive. It was very grey, very cold, and very silent. The snow had covered everything in the stadium. It was a very awe-inspring, humbling, and amazing experience.

Believe it or not, I heard the Fulmer himself came up with the idea. Keep it up fulmer!

Exactly, we need to score until the we can't score anymore (meaning the time runs out). We need to send florida a message, that we're ready to play and kick some ass!

It's a good thing that we have more than one game before Fla. That gi ves a little more prep time, and who needs a week off after just one game? This will help us get ready for Fla. BTW, the win over Cal. shut up alot of Bama fans who gave me grief last year. I felt like we were "BACK" on Sat. Rock on Vols!!!!

As a former band member that was there during the artificial turf and grass, I can say I was blessed. During the years of artificial turf, the AD let us use the stadium to practice in and I can tell you how magical that place is when it's empty. Just think about the resonance from a big, fat major chord in a cold November morning against the metal bleaches echoing about you. I get chills just thinking about it. But then the moved us over by the frats and they hated us. No magic there as the sound just escapes.
