Vols Get Visit from 7ft Center

We got an unofficial visit from JUCO center Moussa Gueye today. I read that he is 7ft, 260lbs from Lake Land Community College. We are in the running with Texas, Southern Cal, Purdue, Marquette, Butler, Alabama and Indiana for his services as well. He is from Senegal and was committed to Valparaiso and has averaged 11pts, nine rebounds, and three blocked shots a game.

Quiet large @ 260#, but does not score a lot @ JC level. Jurick was a 6'11'' 4* shot blocker / rebounder and CPB sent him back. Like the above, he better be able to run or he'll be a liability.

You can't teach size. Even if he really can't score, it'd be nice to have a big body down low after Brian leaves.

I would prefer to have a more athletic player that can better play our system and is a scoring threat inside. I don't see giving this kid a scholarship.

New article on Rivals. This kid experienced quite a growth spurt.

"Up until five years ago, he was 6-foot-5, so since he's been a teenager, he's had a tremendous growth spurt," Brown offered. "He's always had the athleticism, but in the past year he has made tons of improvement in his post game.

I would assume so, Fields has only one year of eligibility.
