Since Pearl has been at UT, Tennessee has beaten the following notable out of conference teams:

Oklahoma State (Big 12)
Texas (Big 12)
Kansas (Big 12)
Marquette (Big East)
Villanova (Big East)
Georgetown (Big East)
DePaul (Big East)
West Virginia (Big East)
Ohio State (Big 10)
Virginia (ACC)

What he has done here is simply amazing.

I think it was in the 2008 tournament we beat Butler in the 2nd round

It was in the 2008 NCAA Tourney. We beat them 76-71 in the second round. A pretty rough second round draw - Butler was 29-3 and managed to get a 7 seed.

We are giants in our own right. Pearl is building one hell of a program and it will only get better and stronger. GBO

Great list but we beat Kentucky (last year i think they were #1 at the time) and Flordia when they won it all in the back to back years.:loco::clapping:

Compared to Tennessee, the only giant I see on this list is Kansas.

Pearl's done fine coaching, and I actually think his first year was coach of the year worthy. I only think he should be fired if Tennessee is going to get severe punishments from the NCAA.

Until this NCAA mess, Pearl's performance and upgrade of our basketball program could not be questioned. It is a shame that this situation could take away from every thing he had accomplished and send us back to a struggling program again. It still seems so completely unnecessary.

Hummm and to think that some on this site wanted to can the man. Sure he made mistakes, who hasn't? Hand him his punishment and then get out of his way. Forgiveness and redemption can be a beautiful thing. /COLOR]
