Saw where Tauren Poole re-signed with the Panthers. Glad to see him get another shot.

Former Tennessee tailback Tauren Poole has returned to the Carolina Panthers, as he signed with the team on Thursday. He will join the team's practice squad. Poole previously spent time with Carolina, but never appeared in a game. He was in training camp with the Pittsburgh Steelers, but was one of the team's fine cuts prior to the regular season.

The Panthers are struggling with injury issues in the backfield and Poole was a perfection for head coach Ron Rivera.

"We went back and looked at his tape from when he was with us, looked at his tape this preseason when he was Pittsburgh, and sat down and talked to him," Rivera said. "Coaches feel very comfortable about his retention."

I still can not get over the fact that we had 2 offensive lineman last year who START in the NFL this year as rookies.
1) Fulton
2) James
Tiny is on IR, but he looked promising for the Vikings this training camp. Bullard nearly made the Lions.
How can we have 4 players with that much talent last year and not have made a better season. I know that was last year, but the thread is about a past player.

James Stones also made the Falcons as a backup center. So we had 5 NFL players on our OL last year and we couldn't push Vandy back one yd to go to a bowl game! That's what I remember about the line. Say what you want about all the diff OL coaches they had. They did had talent, but couldn't produce when we needed it. I think they only wanted to get away from Dooley and didn't appreciate what Butch Jones was bringing to the table.

I forgot about Stone. That is absolutely a great point.

It really shouldn't matter who the coach is. When you can't push an inferior dline one yard for one play, then you just don't want it bad enough. If a D1 Olineman doesnt know the technique to push people back in a short yardage situation, then something is wrong.

That play did not come down to technique or game plan or anything like that; it came down to the players making plays

That's why it disgusts me so much.
