The one that sticks out in my mind is the field goal we hit against Florida to win a couple of years ago. It was over 50 yards at least. What about yall?

Manning to Kent 1st play of 1995 Bama Game

Jay Graham's "The Run" vs. Bama in 1996

Peerless Price's "Big Orange 100 yarder" to take control of the 1998 Bama game.

Tee Martin's bootleg for 21 yards to ice the 1999 Bama Game

Casey Clausen's 9 minute drive in the 4th Quarter to seal Bama's fate in the 2001 Game.

Jason Allen's tipped ball to win the 5 OT game vs. Bama in 2003

Corey Campbell's late interception to ice the 2004 Bama game.

Basically anything that happened that was good vs. Alabama.

I also loved when Arkansas was ahead of Tennessee during its national championship year and simply had to rush up the middle to secure the win and run out the clock after TN failed on a fourth down. But Clint Stoener dropped back to pass, slipped, and dropped the football. Tennessee recovered and drove into the endzone to win and went on to win the national title.

To bad they don't have a good enough kicker to hit a field goal like that ever again! :banghead:

The very next game (I was there), the first field goal he (Wihoit) missed it by a mile. Needless to say, I was glad he chose to hit at the right time.

i have to say the arkansas game 1998. that was an absolute give from god. on the 2004 florida game i have to say that wilhoit worst kicker ever unless its important. if its a game-tying or game-winning kick then its good but extra points, who needs em.

1) Shazzon Bradley catching a TD pass against Jerry Dinardo's (Don't say the name of UT) Vandy in his senior year.
2) Darryl Hardy's hit against the Alabama tailback in 1991 that broke several ribs and I heard the pop high up in the stands at Legion field
3)Ron Widby leading the nation in punting in 1966 and All-American in BB scoring 50 points in a game.
4)Darrin Miller returning a fumble 96 yds. for a TD against Coloroda in the Kickoff classic.

(note: the memories go on and on for us older Vol fans and for the younger fans cherish the future as the best is yet to come!)

I believe that was against Indiana in 1987. Still one of the most incredible and underrated plays I've ever seen. It's classified as a fumble return, but what really happened is he blitzed and got into the backfield so fast that he actually intercepted the pitchout on what was going to be a toss sweep. He never even broke stride. I don't even think he was that fast, but he was 20 yards downfield before anybody realized what happened.

Actually it was on Aug. 30, 1987 against Iowa in the Kickoff Classic in East Rutherford NJ. We won 23-22. If my memory serves me correctly, Mark Mcguire's brother was QB for Haden Fry's Hawkeyes.

That's right, it was Iowa. I remember Dan McGwire. That guy was like 6'7" and I think he even got drafted.

How 'bout Dale Carter returning the opening kickoff of the 2nd half against Florida to break open a close game in-route to a 45-3 massacre. That was one of the greatest returns I have ever seen.

That game is also the only time I have ever seen a TE throw a TD pass in a college game (thanks Vaughn Reeves!)

EDIT: I think that was 1990

Yes, Von Reeves tight end from Knoxville Austin-East threw the TD pass. (he played some QB in high school) and may have thrown another TD pass before his career was over. He's a pharmaceducal sales rep now.

I was at that night game. It was a gorgeous night and I think it was Spurrior first year. Line backer Reggie Ingram also intercepted a pass off Shane Matthews and returned it for a TD!!

I was at that game as well. We had gone up to tour the administrative suite at halftime, so I saw the runback from the UT skybox. I remember Carter getting bounced around like a pinball at around midfield but keeping his balance and outrunning everybody to the endzone. Very cool night. Which is why I voted for it.
