This game comes up tomorrow and we've had very little discussion of it.

I know coach Pearl spoke yesterday about the importance of bringing the intensity for every game. MSU has lost what, four in a row? Road wins are just plain hard to come by in the SEC, do the the Vols fall into an emotional letdown after the Gator High note?

The Nation has been pretty quiet on this one, so I'm assuming everyone thinks that if we just do our jobs down there we get the "W".

I'm still worried every time these guys take the floor, but this sure feels like a game we should win.

Another Pearl in the String right folks?

ah, we've all been too busy cutting each other down over the CPF debate....

but to your point, you're right....i think it is a huge let down spot for us....hopefully the team continues to buy in to what he's telling them....cause, now they aren't the hunters, they're the hunted....they won't suprise anyone anymore.

I understand your thinking, but I swear I have the sense that teams we have not faced yet are still suprised by the way this Tennessee pressure affects you in real life. They see the film, and know whats coming, but just can't seem to appreciate it's full effect on what they want to do.

That being said, you only get that luxury once. Next time there will truly be no sneaking up on them.

The moral... Let's make hay while we can with these teams!

State is the worst team in the SEC. Winning this game is imperative. You have to beat the patsies to keep positive momentum.

That's pretty much how I feel about this game. Like I said in another thread, shooting would be my main concern for the Vols. If we can avoid the 25-35% shooting and keep somewhere in the 40-50% or higher, we should be ok.

Like hat said, we HAVE to win this one.

Looking at our schedule, we go to Rupp 2 weeks from today. We must win @ MSU and sweep the home stand in order to go into Lexington with our head held high. I know KY is down this year, but they get Auburn, Ark, MSU then go to Gainsville before we come in. Now if they pull off a win @ FLA, they will be pumped for us. KY will give us a good game no matter what and beating KY is good in the NCAA selction committees eyes. So long story short...we cannot afford a letdown on the road with the upcoming schedule.

GO VOLS

Don't know the answer to this, but have we shot above 40% in any game this season?

another couple of interesting stats...

Our total turnovers this season...185...to opponents...306

Our steals...165...to opponents...90

I love this style of play. I have never been more excited in TBA than I was Saturday night.

nah, i live in Charlotte, NC...and even when i was in school, mid 90's, i only went to a few...but that was during the kevin oneil experiment...whew, man, talk about boring basket ball....i'd love it if i was there now....

i just hope the students keep going to the games and get good and lathered up....we never had that when i was there. Nice to see.

I have been going off and on since the Wade Houston years and I bought tickets for the last two Buzz years and of course this year. It is amazing what has happened in that building. People are excited, people are standing, hell I sweat most of the game. I love football as much as the next VOL, but this is a breath of fresh air and I'm going to buy additional tickets for next year.

Good for you...i'd do the same if i still lived there. Go Vols. and next year should be very exciting too....doubtful we'll come in off the radar, no matter how this season ends...expectations will be higher...should be fun.

That's just amazing to me, I'd swear we weren't shooting that well just on the face of it.
Great stats OWB... :hi:
