"He's a big piece of our defense," secondary coach Willie Martinez said. "We're going to lean on him for his experience and his playmaking ability."

the secondary is a area of huge concern this year, like most of all the positions on the team, there is a lack of depth and here is to hoping injuries are minor this year for all the players

If Riyad Jones gets healthy, I think we'll be in good shape. May have to move Byron Moore to be the nickel back, at some point.

I'm not worried about Justin, it's the other side that concerns me.
Sutton is a baller. Got to see him at the open practice, last week. I figured he'd end up the starter opposite of Coleman. Martinez is a good db coach. If you remember, he was even the DC for UGA for a while there. Last year we had a promoted grad assistant coaching the CB's and folks wonder why our guys looked so slow and out of position.

After 80% of his staff bailed on him, Dooley was left to finding coaching scraps off the kitchen floor. We'll be a lot better on D than most realize.

Our front seven is our strength and teams know it, they are going to pick on this young secondary and it's going to get ugly I am afraid. Surely not as bad as last year though...

has there been anymore information released on RJ's leg status. it just seems like they are being very vague unlike other medical releases.

If we can get through the season without a bite from the injury bug our Dbs will be fine. Sutton is the real deal. He is a ballhawking lockdown corner. I'm not sure how he was overlooked by recruiting services the way he was.

Same thing with Randolph. He was rated a 3* by both major services...even after being named the state Gatorade Player of the year (on defense).

It's also like our current OL commitment, Orlando Brown. He too is listed as a 3* even though he is a Behemoth and has offers from practically every major program. Go figure. :loco:

I haven't heard anything lately. CBJ said he just showed up to practice and his calves swole up. Weird.

Yep...very serious. He was a Grad Assistant at Bama for 2yrs before UCF initally hired him (to be the CB's coach). Sunseri offered him the job here, and he took it, instead.

Two coaches totally unproven to handle the job (they were promoted to) at this level. Add that combination to the fact that Dooley, himself, had nothing in his resume to commend him to an SEC coaching job, much less here....and that was a trainwreck waiting to happen.

Shame we had so much talent on offense...otherwise the wheels would have come off completely before we ever got to October.

i still wonder what it would have been like with Wilcox and company

of course dear old dad all ways said, poop in one hand and wish in the other and see which one gets full first :)

other than them abandoning the run to soon and not reeling Bray in,Offense wasn't the problem
