I don't want to start a gossip column, BUT does anyone have any insight on potential Vols that might be resuming their college careers elsewhere? It seems like the D. Booth EE opening suddenly not available to him and the subsequent emergence of 5 Star Malone taking his spot, CBJ's potentially signing 35 players might also be based on 5 or so players leaving the program. Any ideas or positions (WR) which might have some players leaving?

If Adoree Jackson needs a spot, I'll give him mine...

oh wait, I don't have a scholarship to give up, sorry.

I wouldn't be surprised if Peterman looked around. Not saying I hope he does, I would just understand if he did.

Positions I suspect might see some guys leave are DB, WR, and a couple of D-linemen that will never play. Tom Smith is already off the team and we'll probably see about ten guys go elsewhere.

I firmly believe AJ will be back next year as well. No opening for juniors leaving for draft other than Tiny.

I hope you are right cause it would go a long way in getting him back to for depth purposes.

I hope so.
I think he wants to play again with Maggitt and the folks 'in the know' feel that he needs work on his pass coverage at this level to increase his value going into the draft and playing on Sundays.

Not surprised if Darr, the punter, is asked to leave. In the best case scenerio, he would see the field maybe 10 times a game. However; he can't even crack the starting line up....

I think he leaves, though I hope I'm wrong. Him being First-Team All-SEC when Tiny was 2nd-team can't have helped us there.

That is UT starting punter 2014, not going to be as good as MP but he can boot it. RS SR

There is allot of players to choose to move on, but don't forget some also help the GPA that is all important.

Speaking of AJ, he has 320 total tackles in his career. If he comes back for his senior season and continues on that pace he has to break some kind of record, right?

I couldn't believe it, but I looked up our roster and we have 6, yes 6, punters and kickers on our team. I realize we lose Palardy, but we have Medley coming in to keep us at 6. What and the heck was Doo-little thinking????

AJ, Maggitt, and Maybin along with all those fine LB recruits would be a huge improvement to the middle of the Defense. Secondary will be a strength next year too.

That would only leave the Oline, Dline and kicking as areas of concern. I expect the Dline will be better with Saulsberry and Vereen & recruits/JUCOs.

And the Oline should be pretty good too with Jackson, Wiesman, Kerbyson and Crowder as anchors. Pair, Kendrick and Sanders all have good size too. We have some great Oline recruits and one or more may be a four year starter.

Kicking is always a concern when you replace them all at once. It will work itself out and coverage teams will have more speed which is desperately needed.

I don't believe Daniel, Brodus or Ault are on scholarship. Brodus may have gotten one for last spring but I am not sure if that extended for this fall.

Bullock and Darr are on scholarship, and Medley will be too. The rest are walk ons.

We all saw what a little coaching can do for a kicker. Not too many on here had much confidence in Palardy in 2012, and one later becomes arguably the MVP. Darr was a top punter coming from HS so the potential must be there. We just need to get it out of him. If not, move him to LB.

He was thinking PALARDY sucked but didn't know good coaching would bring out the beast of a kicker P became.

Bullock & Medley are, Broadus is year to year I think. Never heard of Ault or Daniel. Darr hasn't kicked in a year & 1/2 as far as I know. Not sure Bullock has ever played. He RS in '12 due to a broken leg & I guess Palardy beat him out for everything in '13. Six seems like a bit much!
