Here we are. Vols took care of business Saturday. 10-2...That game at Vandy should not be considered a gimme game. See Alabama record. And Texas barely got out of there with a win.. Ohio St. , 10-2... Did not take care of business, at their own house. Losing to an abysmal Mich. team.. The SOS that Sankey put out there, tells it like it is. Cmon!? Now, the AP and CP has Vols ranked 6, and Bugeyes ranked 7. I mean, yeah, we lost to Arky on a road game, and a dam good, well coached Ga. team on the road. Both games were not a runaway. Could've gone either way in both games. I mean, c'mon, it only makes sense. WE HOST!

Tennessee is ranked #6 in both polls. There should be no reason the CFP ranks us lower. We should be in line to host no matter what now.

After the championship games, Vols should go up to #5 in AP and in playoff picture. So would that be 5 vs 12 in playoff picture? If that is the case, VOLS would have the easiest path, IMO to making it deep in the playoffs, barring injuries and terrible offensive play.

ESPN already setting the CFP narrative

With their latest projections they have Ohio State ranked 6 and us at 7. That would have them as the last team hosting and us going on the road to Columbus. Their reasoning is that Ohio State has 2 “statement” wins- Penn State and Indiana while we only have 1. I’m happy with going to whip them...

I don't think you understand how the cfp rankings work at all. There is zero chance the vols can be 5 and almost no chance they can be 6 or 7. 8 is possible. ND will be 5, 6, or 7. One of Penn State or Oregon will be 5 or 6. And UGA or Texas will most likely be 7.

Not if UGA loses to Texas. P State losing could drop to 8. UGA goes from hosting to 9-12

ND has 5th seed locked up, UT is not jumping them. After the championship games the best UT can hope for is #6.

I, for the record, think we should host. But I'm simply stating the fact that ESPN, the committee which is headed by Big 10 people, are not gonna put us ahead of OSU. We will know Tuesday night where they stand, despite us being ahead of them In both polls.

Unlikely that you understand how it works either, not saying that to be a douche. Reason I say that is I don’t think the committee themselves understand the criteria they’re going to use yet. Notre Dame will likely be the five unless Oregon loses then they would take the five seed. Georgia I have no damn idea where they would rank if they lose with a third loss. Penn state I think probably is no worse than 6th or 7th unless they just get embarrassed. Mostly I agree with you on the slotting but we don’t know what criteria they will use.
