Yeah, I think being ahead of Florida last week, as an anomoly, and it has been corrected.

Thats what happens when a team plays prevent defense and lets a team score to make it look like a closer game. Beat the Cocks by 14 rather than 7 and the Vols might have received more votes.

Given our loss to UF was by a single point and the performance of the individual teams since then, I think Florida JUST BARELY still deserves to be ranked ahead of us. Over the course of a season, it is a discretionary call among the voters as to how much a team has improved compared with another, to whom that team may have lost much earlier in the season. My point is, having watched the performances of UF and UT as most of us have, I think it is pretty close to a toss-up as to which team deserves to be ranked higher at this point.

I also think, as much as it pains me to say it, that Texas owns a type of clout among a majority of voters, such that ANY win, however much they may've scrambled for their very lives to win the game against a presumably far inferior opponent (2 weeks in a row), they are ALWAYS going to either maintain or move up in the polls. Unfortunately, we don't possess that type of clout, having dropped (if my count is right), all of 3 times this season after a win.

I personally don't see that much of a difference between TX winning close games at Nebraska and at Tech while TN wins close games at home against Bama and on the road against USC.

I will cede to Vol fans that the Vols do have the Cal game to hold up against TX. That's a better argument.

Dude, every SEC game we play is a "better argument." Texas cakewalks 70% to 90% of the season year after year. Put that same Texas team in the SEC this year, and they're 5 and 3 at best, IMO.

Yeah that TD should have never happpened.
Why does Chavis always do that w/ the prevent
i think it would be the right thing to do if your up by 30 but not 14.

Take that to the bank. Texas is good, but they have no business sliffing the title game this year. Put them in a real conference and they probably don't win a conference title either.
