On a cold Sunday afternoon, the bats never heated up for UT as it dropped an 8-0 decision to Ole Miss. The Vols managed just five hits as the Rebels twirled their sixth shutout in the last 11 games. BOX SCORE

let's name a new baseball coach while we're at it . what a joke of a coach. he's had 4 classes now to do something. i can't wait till he is shown the door in may. anybody who thinks we will make the sec tournament is out of their mind. we still have 6 series against top 25 teams, that is at least 12 more losses in conf. fire him tommorrow !!!!!

One of the worst losses for the Vols in the 2011 season, and in the SEC.
Wasted opportunities to score 2nd straight week the Vols win on a Saturday but fail to win the series on Sunday.
2-4 The Vols have to climb a mountain playing the top dog Gators in the Swamp.

This team basically had to be 4-2 or better after Ole Miss to have a shot to do anything. Other than Georgia and Auburn, I'm not sure they have a legitimate shot to win a series the rest of the season.

They're "improved", but the fact remains that they are still not a good enough SEC team to cause damage.

Don't know how you can say we're improved. Even with Coach Retard, we were 2-1 against UK and 2-1 against Ole Miss in 2010 (those 2 schools must have been embarrassed to hell!). This year we have reversed those records.

It seems obvious we are -in fact, losing ground. From now on, every year Toad stays, sets our program back 2 years.

I don't think it's over. The Vols in 2 SEC series while not in the best position are not in the worst position. Adversity reveals character, and the Vols could show how dangerous a desperate wounded dog is.
The Dawgs just proved one of the best teams doesn't always win beating the LSU Tigers 2 out of 3.

Adversity reveals a come apart for the coaching staff.(this is your first year so you dont know) and they are about to get into some of the better teams in the SEC. Hopefully they all have their Xanax refilled.

replacing the a.d. might not resolve all the problems in the athletic department, but dumping this idiot would be a hell of a good start.

If you don't think this team overall has looked better than the two prior years then I don't know what to tell you.

This team has won games that they're supposed to win. The past two years, not so much.

It doesn't matter if they can't even make the SEC tournament. Bad is better than horrible. All they have proven is that they can beat outmatched teams.

Is Todd's wife pregnant? If so he will be here another year. I tried to tell Lawson (Ashley) he was an idiot for leaving the Padres to join this circus!

I agree. I'm just saying that there is an improvement over last year.

Make no mistake, Raleigh needs to be gone after this year. The improvement isn't enough to cover the gap they had to make up. Four years is enough time.

Raleigh's contract is up after this season. No way in he11 that it gets renewed, short of a trip to the CWS. Oh wait, if Hamilton is still our AD, anything is possible....Stay tuned....
