Fox Sports Yoni Cohen predicts the Vols will be the 6th seed in the Atlanta Regionals. Check MSN news.

that depends, is there a Durham regional?

Well, ESPN Bracketology has us in Greensboro with Duke....That's not any better.

yep, that sounds about right....they won't let Duke play too far away from home....

oh, we will be, it's more of taking shots at duke than anything else....personally i don't care where they get seeded, but living in charlotte, if they did make it and wound up in Greensboro, i would make the trip....only an hour and a half away.

I would probably try to go too. It's only about a 2 1/2 hour drive from here and I used to live in Winston, so I'm used to the trip.

realtimerpi.com has the Vols at #10. With an RPI that high, UT would have to really falter to not make the Dance. I think seven more wins will get the Vols in for sure. In other words, 9-7 in the SEC, or 8-8 SEC with one SEC tourney win, or 8-8 SEC with a win over Memphis.

I agree with your analysis on what you need SEC-wise. I am struggling to see your RPI rating that high, though. Seems based on a 30-something strength of schedule and I looked at it and only strong team you have played so far is Texas and after that, maybe LSU. I think the SOS in that ranking right now is very suspect.

Still, I'd put you around the # 30 team in the country and therefore in.

RPI is like the BCS. It's not designed to be right at any point in the season, other than at the end. People know that but still act like it means something anyways.

How ya doin', ukvols? Tough loss there by your Bears.

First playoff game in four years and the same result. I'll repeat what I've been saying is that I am not a fan of teams who have clinched sitting everybody for the entire game. Especially in the case of Grossman, who had played in only 1.5 games in the regular season since September, 2004. He sat out Week 17 and of course the wildcard round. He could have used the game reps. And, look at how long the Colts went without their starters getting game reps. Yes, somebody might get hurt, but I think the positives outweigh the risks. But, I am over the Bears loss. Thanks for asking. :eek:k:

No question we would be in the tourney if it started today, but it doesn't. We still have a LOT of basketball left to play.

Been a long time since the men's basketball team has gone to "THE DANCE." Vols have been either 6th or 8th seed the last few weeks. I'm picking Duke to win it all!

Still lots of bball. If they keep playing Pearl Ball they are in. Pearl will hopefully take them past the first round where Buzz's last trip ended.
