Vols to play in Preseason NIT - in 2010-11

I'm surprised to see them choose teams so early.
Why? The competition to get quality teams into the exempt events has gotten fierce. Any tournament that waits is going to end up with a field full of Detroit Mercys and Idahos.

You'll probably have to wait a good 4 months before you hear anything about the schedule but as far as the PNIT tourney goes....I believe the teams that have entered so far are Tennessee, UCLA, Villanova. I've also heard North Carolina and Ohio State but I aint to sure on the last two.

Maybe I'm losing it, but why would Memphis be "hosting" the Vols on New Year's eve? Didn't we play at Memphis this past season?

We can expect home games against Memphis and USC. I don't recall who else we've signed a deal with.

Agreed....hopefully an editing error at the KNS. Although I do enjoy going to the Forum and watching the Tigers get beat!

Need to read more carefully...thanks mod!

I don't like the idea of playing Memphis State on New Years. It was bad luck this year. I can't wait to welcome USC to TBA after the butt kicking we got this year.

I forgot about UConn. Thanks. I'm not particularly looking forward to the USC rematch. That style of play is Bruce's kryptonite.

I read, I think somewhere on here, that the SEC and Big East want to expand the SEC/BigEast Invitational, and are looking to possibly matchup UT against Pitt.
