Hopefully this will be the only interaction our players will have with the KPD, but with the past as a guide, sadly I'm afraid something silly always seems to happen.

I hope a few of the players asked the KPD to treat UT fans with a little respect from now on...something they've never done in the past!

I wonder if they had enough time to go into the procedure for how to jealously harass college students on the strip or ignoring actual person on person crime in the Fort Sanders area, which gets less safe by the day, no thanks to these "brave" bullies. I almost wish they were Robocops, as the human elements of arrogance, narcissism, entitlement, bitterness towards more successful people, bravado, etc. would not come into play.

Or hopefully this helps our relationship with the KPD. Smart move by Jones on so many levels.

I don't live in K-ville so this is just from standard gameday observation, due to a previous comment about screwing traffic up and arresting people for jay-walking. I have seen these guys stand out in the street before and after games in the sweltering heat, and "try" to direct traffic and walking patterns, and watch people both drive and walk when they aren't supposed to, with not much regard to others driving or walking and the Officer yelling at them, but they continue on as if they are special or something...I have also seen firsthand the difficulty in dealing with two of the worst demographics to have to deal with, drunken football fans, and college students, so I give them a little slack. As a fan, id like to think that they might cut our players a little slack sometimes, but in the end, a law breaker is still a law breaker and should be punished like the rest of us if they are doing wrong. Years of dealing with the disrespectful public and unappreciative administrations, and seeing the things they see sometimes and being fired or sued for simply doing your job or protecting yourself in dangerous situations could make you seem cold-hearted or arrogant I guess. Its a tough job these guys do and many do it for the right reasons, but as in any profession, there are some that don't and abuse the authority they have been trusted with. Just my two cents.

A little mis information, Butch Jones didn't arrange this. KPD reached out to Butch Jones to see if he could send some players over to teach some KPD officers how to read.
