Behind its second dominant pitching performance of the day, UT picked up just its third series win ever in Tuscaloosa, downing No. 24 Alabama, 1-0, to sweep Saturday's doubleheader. BOX SCORE

Fantastic that in the final week of the first half in the SEC the Vols win their first division series vs a top 25 first place team the Tide on the road.
The Tide will remember the Saturday they played the Vols getting beat twice 2-1 in game one, and shut out 1-0 in game 3 in a series where the Vols came back to win.

The 2,3, and 4 hitters Osborne,Norfork, were terrific all going 2 for 3.
2nd straight game Osborne got the better of the Tide including a web gem play.
Multiple chances for the Tide to score but they failed to produce the critical hits. The Vols outhit the Tide, and it's their 4th shutout of the season.

The only thing that still scares me though is that we swept a doubleheader with only scoring 3 runs, very scary. GBO!

Awesome! How demoralizing! Lose a series to the Tennessee ReTodds.

Now we just need to work like heck and we could still win the conference.

I am amazed at the morons who can find a negative light in winning a road series against bama.

They are probably the same people who have watched the ReTodds implode down the stretch (like last year) when they got on a little run but still didn't get to Hoover in the end.

Agreed. Regardless of how anyone feels about Raliegh, this was a big win.

Are you serious?? I'll give them credit for the series win but let's face it, this baseball program is at an all time low with Raleigh at the helm. Until we hire a real "coach" that doesn't berate players, and actually uses positive reinforcement instead of negative reinforcement, we'll continue to see good talent go to waste. Any win by this team is in spite of the flaws of the head coach.

A win over bama in anything is worth being happy about for at least 24 hours.

Do I think this team is miracously going to Hoover? Probably not.

Do I think Raleigh needs to be shown the door? Yes.

Yes, I'm serious. I fail to see how being happy about winning the series against Bama suddenly means anyone is pro-Raliegh. I've made it clear I think Raliegh should have been fired last year and most definitely this should be his last season. But if you can't be happy about beating Alabama, then something is wrong with you.

I am definitely glad we beat Alabama , even if it was in a meaningless game. Don't see much of a chance of the Vols getting to Hoover, Again... I hope Raleigh has starting packing his things..
